Now this is the type of resort that means what they say: ALL INCLUSIVE. When I say that everything was amazing, it was--from concierge service (Francisco & Gerardo specifically) to room service (Lorenzo)to the dining options and customer service (Francisco that worked at Seaside Grill & Himitsu) to the entertainment provided by Lina. I HIGHLY recommend that when choosing your suite--get the swim out, you will NOT regret it!
When we arrived, the staff knew that it was my girlfriend's birthday and this was what we saw when we entered our suite!
The burlesque show on Friday night was full of energy and skill!
One of the many animals we encountered in it's natural habitat. Don't be afraid of the coatis as well!

Opulent rooms and grounds that instill a sense of exclusive luxury and provide a tropical swim into the life of the pampered. Let me give you some context. I and my lovely girlfriend of over 1 year arrived in July 2025 for a 5 day romantic getaway from NYC. In my opinion, this resort truly deserves its AAA rating, and I am comparing it to food, services, and spa’s in NYC. The population was mostly middle age, mostly couples, some groups of friends, no pretentious folks, a little party atmosphere some nights, mostly mature and refined folks with the random intoxicated partner on the premises. My desire to write a review is because of the impeccable attention to details and highly trained service staff that caters to you like you are ultra wealthy and famous. Delicious gourmet quality food served in a mixture of fine dining restaurants (table cloths and all), open air bars, elegant buffets too, and you can opt for the Preferred Club lounge, which will serve you exclusive self-service gourmet appetizers and top-shelf drinks. Let me try to give you some concrete and tangible details for you to interpret. The green coconut water they give you has the Secrets logo char branded into the coconut, and it’s been chilled in a cooler before they hand it to you off a serving tray. The bath towel you received after your Spa treatment with body exfoliation is in a private village designed for couples, with top-to-bottom glass walls in the shower room, and it will be warm.

This is the best resort we have stayed at in Mexico. It is an amazing property with so much to offer in terms of food, drinks, pools, entertainment, beach/snorkeling. You really don't have to leave the property at all as they have everything you need for a fabulous vacation. We came home feeling great (no stomach issues like we have experienced from past resorts in Mexico). Top notch service from an incredible staff. We will be going back.

Secrets Akumal staff go way above and beyond to meet your every need. I’ve never felt so cared for and taken care of in my life! The hospitality they provide go beyond any expectation. I was never hungry! My concierge checked in with me regularly. She even would give me a menu of what was going on on the property daily. Just outstanding service. If you got lost, a staff member, any staff member, would walk you to your destination. It was a gorgeous resort. Swim up bar and swim up pool to our room was amazing! Food was top tier! We stayed 4 nights and it wasn’t long enough! Such a nice resort. The staff was very friendly and attentive, the food was great and there was lots of activities to keep us entertained. It never felt crowded because it is so big. Highly recommended Secrets Akumal

The resort is beautiful and you felt Luis got are in paradise. Our swim out room was lovely and covered by trees which offered shade from the sun. We enjoyed the dining options and the nightly entertainment which included a singing competition, shows. Karaoke, and an Akumart (shopping). Drinks were good too. The hospitality and concierge service was top notch. Properly was safe but many times we got lost when walking the property. We would revisit this property again.

Second time at this resort. 5 stars across the board from food, to resort grounds, and outstanding staff. We loved everything about our stay. (Except mother nature sent a lot of sargassum which limited beach conditions. The resort did everything possible to clean it up but it was quite challenging. We made the best of it and I got in a few opportunities to snorkel when there was less seaweed. Smell was unpleasant; but again, not the resort's fault!) I highly recommend Secrets Akumal! Love this resort and the people!
