Bad #1: We booked this property specifically for the indoor pool (we had previously booked a different hotel, only to find out the pool was closed, so we cancelled and booked here). The day we are driving in for our reservation, I receive aessage from the hotel saying their pool is closed. Not happy, but stuff happens - I get it. When I arrive to check in, I asked them about the pool just to make sure. They confirmed it's been closed for at least 2 weeks! Now I'm angry. I ask them why did I only receive a message the day of check in? They should have been up front right away. Person at the front desk didn't have an answer. I asked if we could be transferred to a different IHG hotel (I was willing to travel at least 25 kilometers in either direction), and they told me they aren't connected to the other IHG hotels and the reservation is non-transferrable. She then said that because I had booked through Expedia, I'd have to go through them for any complaints (keep in mind, we were a late check in at 10pm...).
The good #1: They comped us breakfast.
The bad#2: When we turned the shower on, the drain backed up ad bugs floated out. Disgusting, but manageable - so I scooped out the bugs, but couldn't fix the drain so it filled to about 2 inches and took about an hour to fully drain post shower.
The good #2: My kids forgot to pack their toothbrushes, but the front desk gave us disposables.
The bad #3: When we went to check out they tried to charge us for the comped breakfast!
