Property is tired and poorly equipped. There is no support or help onsite. Our request to replace the broken toaster did not happen. There were no basics supplies such as coffee filters.
Quiet little cabins nestled in Deer Harbor. We had comfortable accommodations, a great hot tub and gorgeous views. There is a restaurant within walking distance that had great BBQ!
Cute and quiet with an ok view. But the property certainly needed some attention.
To begin with the rooms stench was overwhelming. We would of had to leave if we couldn’t find the smell.
We determined it was due to the fridge being unplugged for who know how long and nobody ever bother to not just prop the door to the fridge open but allowed the tray from the freezer when it defrosted it clearly was left for months.
Even after I cleaned it out the refrigerators stench rendered it unusable.
There was no working satellite dish only DVD’s. When we mentioned the refrigerator situation the only response was sorry you had to deal with that.
Could be a great stay if it was managed better.
For $300/night, I expected more. At least that the hot tub would be clean, all doors work properly, and there be someone available to call if we needed anything. The hot tub was slimey and needed some serious attention. The back door was almost impossible to open and the front was so squeaky I thought we were going to wake the entire neighborhood. Given the nonexistent cell reception, I was disappointed that when I was finally able to get through to the “front desk” that there was “no one available to take my call”. It was 9am, so a reasonable time of day to call to get more coffee. We arrived late at night so were grateful that the “check in policy” was to grab a bag with our key from the unattended front desk. However, the place was poorly lit at such a late hour and we stumbled around in the dark trying to find our cabin. I appreciate the attempt at protecting night skies and all, but at least leave a little light on? In the name of safety? The cottage itself was strangely laid out but adequate and at least the bed was comfy. The one cool thing was that they provided soap/shampoo/conditioner in a dispenser instead of single use bottle! Unfortunately we were relegated to a Keurig instead of a real coffee pot so managed to offset that good pretty quickly. Lastly, I was dismayed to find that our “sunset view” was actually “highway view” but that was the least of my disappointment. Given the exorbitant cost and mediocre delivery, we won’t be back.

The Orcas Island area is beautiful, however the Deer Harbor Cottages are quite run down. The cottage we occupied may have been renovated in the 1970s with nothing upgraded since.
Beautiful quiet cottage was a bit small but very clean and comfortable. Hot tub on private patio was a nice bonus, especially in the rain because it's covered/roofed! Spacious property/grounds with walking distance to Deer Harbor Marina. Very impressed and pleased, can't wait to return!

Relaxing get away
Room (Sunset View) was large and clean with a nice view. Bed was comfortable. Electric fireplace, microwave, and keurig coffee pot in the room. There is no interaction with owners/ manager as you pick up a key left in an unoccupied office and leave the key when you depart. There is a phone number to call if you have any problems.
Quiet area, cottages are in an orchard setting.
Good restaurant on the premises.
The house looks like it is close to the beach, but only has a peek a view water view from a mile away. Very old house that has not been updated. The deck looks rotten, we were afraid to go out on it. Weeds everywhere, kitchen had a strange odor. The only positive I can say is the beds were comfortable. We stayed in the 3 bedroom house across the road called Norton House. We fled after 1 night and stayed at Rosario Resort.
The cottage was great and perfect for our long weekend. Lovely to have a hot tub on the deck with partial harbor views! The mini kitchen was great for making a quick breakfast or storing sandwich supplies in the mini fridge. Wouldn't recommend cooking an elaborate meal but here is a two burner stove and a few pots, pans, and utensils available. Check in is unique in that it is truely self-check in....the "office" had a small gift bag with our cottage keys, information about the property, and contact info if needed. Worked well for us but certainly something to be aware of! All in all, a great spot!
Only used it for sleeping. MBR is good but bed is right next to a window that does not have a shade. Bring a sleeping mask. Otherwise up before 6 am when sun rises.
We rented the Bluff Cottage, which I think is the largest of the stand-alone cottages they have. It has a nice view from the deck of the inlet on which the village of Deer Harbor sits, with the Olympic mountain range floating above.
The cottage was: Clean, everything worked, comfortable. Only negative was a "college" style refrigerator, which didn't freeze well; but free ice was available from a machine in the office, a few steps away.
The cottage is of fairly recent build and was nice inside. The covered deck was a nice place to relax after a day of whale watching or hiking. It was just a 100-foot walk across the lawn to the restaurant, which provides fine dining and good drinks. The restaurant staff were excellent.
We will return to the Bluff Cottage in the near future.
What a great find, the unit was perfect we would recommend to any couple looking to get away.

Nice spot!
The house was great! Getting to the island is easy. Getting off of it, notso much. Make sure and get ferry reservations!
The only bad thing about our trip was the office. I couldnt get in touch with anybody on the phone when I needed them. Neither could I find anybody once I checked in and needed help during our stay.
