Loved the cook-to-order fresh meals! All front desk staff were so friendly and eager to help. Our Bell Hop was always so attentive & was sure to be on the lookout for us to get the door (this was greatly appreciated; two toddler sons traveled with us), one staff member stood out most though, she delivered our meals two days in a row and was one of the most authentic, energetic, friendly, innovative individuals we met. While bringing in our breakfast one of the last mornings of our stay she went ABOVE & BEYOND: Our 2 year old son was having a melt down (he wasn't the happiest the last time that she had dropped our food off either) both times she tried to do something to help put him at ease, but the second time; set her apart from everyone else. She not only entered our room with a smile on her face (screaming toddler & 4 year old on the brink of a melt down due to his brother's) she started telling me about being a kindergarten teacher in in her country (Japan, I believe it was) and proceeded to start singing the ABC's in her language (absolutely beautiful!) both of my boys stopped everything, then right before they could start up again she then sang the ABC's in English. It was the most touching experience of my trip & am so thankful for her, just humbled. I hope she gets to see this review, she truly deserves to be recognized for her commitment to the clients of the hotel & to know how much she truly touches people! The impact she really makes.

Second stay at the Langham and it's very difficult to fault any aspect of our stay. Welcoming and attentive staff. Clean. Executive Lounge a must.

This hotel is legitimate 5-star. I stay here when we I’m in NYC. Food is good, staff is mostly Korean and the efficient and friendly. The street is not what 5th Avenue used to be. Not their fault, but NYC has lost its way. Homeless problem 10 feet from the front door. Panhandlers and mentally ill people everywhere.

For a hotel at this level their Guest Services and Front Desk is abysmal. I confirmed 3 times on a kitchen order to be delivered to the suite. Reconfirmed when I checked in that it was noted in my account. Order did not come when scheduled. I called to inquire and was told "there's nothing in the system." When I told them I was on a timeline, they were condescending and gave me no ETA on when they would be able to rectify the situation. I was repeatedly told it "wasn't in the system." Which landed like it was all my problem. Incensed I called the front desk and was put on hold for the manager who apologized and even he was confused why I was told "it wasn't in the system," because it was - in the system. Eventually, the order came but unfortunately, was not able to fully enjoy it because of their communication or system issues. For hotels at this level, I expect and demand better. The Langham Fifth Avenue may be beautifully appointed and in a great location but their service level is not commensurate with a "luxury" hotel. If I wanted inconsistent, subpar, dismissive and condescending service I would stay at a Marriott.

We stayed in room #1104. It is large and inviting for NYC (or any city.)I hesitated to opt for the balcony in August, but it proved to be pleasant weather and was well worth the upgrade. I highly recommend this hotel. We will come again.

Anniversary weekend

We would give the Langham and their staff a 100 stars if that was available. Every member of the staff was extremely courteous and helpful. The front desk staff person who checked us in was incredibly kind by upgrading us to a junior suite after inquiring about our 20th anniversary stay. The junior suite was absolutely amazing front the views to the enormous bathroom with soaking tub to the most comfy bed. The room had everything you wanted or needed. The housekeeping staff was excellent. The room was immaculate when we returned from the Hamilton show. A pleasant surprise was the turn down service with slippers next to the bed and another set of the freshest towels. We would like acknowledge the bell person who treated us like family. He escorted us to the room. Gave us a tutorial on how everything worked in the room. He graciously asked if we would like to have we would our suits and dresses hung up from our garmet bag. He gave us bottles of water every time we returned to the hotel and walked through the lobby. He also arranged the complimentary car service for us to take to dinner. All of these attentions to details puts the Langham on the top of our list now. We highly recommend the Langham. Treating people like family goes a long way. It should be every establishments approach to keep loyal customers and the Langham is doing it extremely well. Maintain the high level of service. We will be back.
