Moderne is a boutique hotel located a block from Broadway and in the heart of the theatre district. It's also located very close to Central Park. It's a fantastic location. The staff were amazingly friendly and helpful. My room was on the first floor just behind the lobby and it was very comfortable and quiet. It's on the smaller side -- but you don't go to NYC to be in the room. I will definitely stay there again.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good. Room was not what I was expecting from the profile. Extremely cramped for the price. For two people there is barely room to put down a suitcase or sit. Would not recommend this place.

Beautiful old building in a great location, nice amenities and friendly staff. But the standard room was smaller than expected [less than 200sq ft]. Next time, I would opt for the Jr Suite.

Small hotel close to Times Square. Room and bathroom were tiny. Barely enough space for my daughter and I. The bed was incredibly uncomfortable. I tossed and turned all night. There is a garbage collection site next door that made walking to and from the hotel unbearable with the smell.

I stayed here about a year ago at a highly discounted rate and LOVED it, which is why I was happy to see it on Expedia at a good rate again and happily booked it. Last year there was a personalized note and chocolates in my room. This year the room I got was nowhere near as nice, nor as clean. I was unable to control the heat only the ac. It was chilly, damp and rainy when I came back from a show looking to warm up. They held my bags until I returned from the show as I arrived shortly before 3 and a room wasn’t ready, so they checked me in upon my return. Maybe I got the last room. Who knows. The young man who checked me in was lovely though. I got to the breakfast room at 8 and there was almost nothing left. Overall, very disappointing.

Beside the hotel there are a big construction that should be in the site of the hotel that permit that the client evaluate that situation before booking . The lobby needs renovation asap the front desk the sofas , are old and in bad condition. The room was ok, no windows a little claustrophobic for me ,small and the bathroom too the shower was good .rhe carpet news a deep cleaning service No coffee maker but has a small refrigerator, Good thing 2 bottles of water every day free of charge. The breakfast was ok for continental breakfast but no enough chairs only a big table with a few chairs si if you want to seat and take a cup of coy with your partner is not enough room to do it is more grab and go! Only coffe n pastry, cereal and some fruits We had breakfast every day outside the hotel every day

Perfect location

The location is perfect. We loved being close to both Central Park and times square. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The guest lounge with pastries/cereal and coffee was a great bonus too.

Nice hotel in a great location. Quiet, clean, friendly staff, nice breakfast offerings. Very minor, but room design and perhaps our room’s location had no natural light of that matters to you. We noticed but it didn’t affect our short stay in any way. Not the hotels fault but the garage next door definitely scammed us which was a bummer.

We chose this hotel for its location to an event. Very walkable to off-Broadway show. Parking garage with hotel discount right next door. Room was nice. Comfy bed. Could use more bathroom counter space for toiletries. Staff were nice. Breakfast (pastries) were very good. The only negative was hair dryer didn’t work and we requested another one that never came. So lost a star on service.
