Good location, bad infrastructure. First room was a complete mess at check in no housekeeping, they gave us a new room. Parking lot is fenced off so we had to use the tiny little entrance by the lobby on Rideau street. Highly congested. Bad odours in hallways. Room keys were unreliable and opened our door 60% of the time and had to be swiped again at the lobby. No body wash in bathroom; shampoo, conditioner, and lotion? It’s a good location, but it needs more investment.

Needed a room, not many available. Location is on the fringe of sketchy neighborhood, lots of homeless people, but tons of shops and stores. Short walk to parliament, short walk to the Byword Market. The place is quite dated and a bit run down. I did have to ask for a shower curtain, perhaps the last guest needed to use it to dispose of someone. Beds were comfortable, linens and towels were great. The room was affordable, so value was there.

Service was excellent. Room reservation was ready upon my arrival. The hotel is in need of renovation. Repairs done in hallways and room by incomplete. Hallway rugs dirty. There was a vent in my bathroom that was pushing food odours. Didn’t not smell bad per se, but makes the room uninviting and give the impression of uncleanliness. Garbage bags left through the night in the hallway.

Nothing unique, had to enter room in the alley which was horrible and we tried to change rooms but nothing was available! The carpet was badly stained, the curtains ripped on top, the sink in the bathroom was grungy in between the counter top and sink. We felt so unsafe that we even put a chair against it. Really whoever owns the building really needs to get their act together and do renovations and stop being so greedy. We would not recommend for sure. Also it is not advertised that the double beds have only alley entrance!

The overall conditions of the hotel are just poor and rundown so the place feels sketchy. Also the area around the hotel doesn’t feel very safe. If you can afford an extra 50 bucks a night, stay somewhere else.

Property is in a hard to get to area, surrounded by homeless. The door room cards don’t even work to open main doors and you have buzz in a staff at the front everytime. The staff was very kind although the rooms were missing the actual coffee said was gonna be provided already and no microwave.

Do not recommend as the area is unsafe and dirty. Our room carpet floor was dirty, garbage left behind under the bed. Our room phone also wasn’t working. Staff weren’t helpful with safety concerns. Housekeeping never came to our room. I would definitely not stay there again.

Our stay at the Days Inn on Rideau Street was very disappointing, and I would not recommend this location. The room and facilities were in poor condition, and the overall cleanliness was unacceptable. The staff did not seem attentive or interested in resolving concerns, and the experience fell far below expectations. After a long trip, we were hoping for a comfortable and welcoming stay, but instead found it stressful and unpleasant. This was one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve had, and I hope management takes this feedback seriously to improve future guest stays.
