Plenty of restaurants to choose from and could always get a reservation which was a bonus. Super comfy beds, rooms serviced everyday sometimes twice, bringing fresh towels for the next morning. Staff were exceptional, Theresa at the pool looked after us and was brilliant and Jesus Torres in customer services was very helpful. Thank you, we will be back!!

Overall, I did not regret this family vacation at Sunrise Palace Resort. It was a good solid option for a budget family tropical vacation. Would I stay there again? Probably not. Pros: The resort is set up well for families. There is a half decent amount of space in the pool even at the busy times of day. They were sprucing up the grounds daily. Painting hallways, pressure washing around the pool, etc. the arcade was a good place to escape the heat for a bit, and keep the teens from being bored. The evening food options were excellent. Especially, the 2 restaurants at the golf clubhouse. We also saw some cool wildlife on our trips to and from that area. The 24/7 Cafe was quite handy when lunch buffet options were not good enough for our pickiest eater. The glow motion evening show was quite amazing. I definitely suggest catching that one. Cons: pushy membership sales. Our kids really wanted to go to the water park at the Grand hotel. We struggled through a 2 hour process of high pressure "time share" style presentation... Just so the kids could spend 2 hours there another day. We had to say no to 4 people before we allowed to leave, and not told how to find out way back to the hotel. We were just shown the door. After checkout, they attacked us again to buy a voucher for half off our next stay. Also, there were BIG cockroaches that showed up at night in the outdoor areas each night. Lunch and breakfast buffets were just ok. Most night shows were just ok. Lots of lipsync.

Enjoyed the room, large, clean and comfortable. Mini bar stocked with requested drinks. Pool at Sunrise was uneventful. Pool at Nuiz was much prettier, better pool service and it had a slide. I was expecting the amenities I saw in adversment but that was only at The Grand. So disappointed in Sunrise pool area. I will never stay on that part of Cancun, the beach was ugly and smelt like sewage. I understand the seaweed is the cause of the smell but it wasn’t removed but maybe once. The smell was so bad you could smell it at the pool. Nauseating smell

Do not fall for the 90 minute sale tactic

Do NOT attend the “90-minute” sales talk — it’s a trap! The so-called 90-minute presentation at The Grand turned into over 4 hours of aggressive, high-pressure sales tactics. They try to bully and guilt you into buying 100 weeks of vacation for an outrageous price. Even after leaving, they continue offering “coupons” and pestering you. Please don’t fall for it. About the hotel itself: Beautiful, well-maintained property Great food and dining options Clean, comfortable rooms Excellent service from the staff Be aware: the resort is huge, so expect to either walk long distances or wait frequently for golf carts.

Good place with great staff and great food quality. Some points to get better like the room's buildings they look old and ugly on the outside. Beach was so dirty that smalled so bad when oppening the room's door. I know this is a nature problem but cleaning can be made by humans.

Not their fault, but the beach was so full of seaweed, it was unusable. In fact, we couldn’t even walk on it because the smell was so terrible. We ended up moving to the Grand, because Sunrise was cramped, dirty and dated. We traveled to the other resorts for dinners, but did enjoy hibachi at Sunrise. The pools were cloudy and guests brought individual speakers, so there was a lot of noise. Once we moved to the Grand, the amenities were so much nicer, the rooms were bigger and cleaner and they were better kept.

The resort staff were excellent, particularly in the dining rooms and with room service. I frequently travel to Cancun, and this was the first time I didn't use the beach. The resort was making efforts to clean up the seaweed, but the smell was awful; because of this, I regretted coming here. There were no activities at the pools either.
