Very convenient location if your trip is focused around more mountain/national park adventures. The hot tub makes for a great experience after a long day in the mountains. Complimentary coffee/tea. Restaurant on the lobby level and a cafe in the next door hotel. Gas station/convenience store across the street. Hotel provides a 3-day bus pass for travel towards downtown Banff.

It’s an ok hotel, the “fridge” in the room is more like a cooler doesn’t keep anything cold and no microwave to heat up food. Paid $2700 for three nights and got the patio with mountain view only to have the restaurant with the air ventilation system right out our window so that was noisy. Most likely Wouldn’t pay the extra for the view as it definitely isn’t what is advertised on the website, you still get a view but the restaurant ruins it.

The Otter was a great stay for our 6 night stay in the town of Banff. Nestled at the end of the Main Street away from the crowds, it was a perfect and QUIET area to stay. We used the hot tub outside almost every night after long days of hiking and the restaurant within the hotel is fairly new, but one of the BEST we tried in Banff (ate out pretty much every evening). I would recommend. Perks: free bus passes and bear spray (free if you don’t use it!) so that was a nice plus. Loved it
