If you don’t make reservations at the restaurants at this hotel then you basically don’t eat. Called for “24-hour room service” we were told they weren’t doing room service that day.

This is the oldest hard rock property they have and it shows. This is my 4th visit to Cancun and by far the worst property we’ve stayed at. The rooms are okay, has a nice balcony and ocean views. It’s a small property with few bars and 4 restaurants located in the same area of the hotel. The breakfast buffet is the same everyday. No hot water in the room. We had to call maintenance 3 of the 4 days just to have luke warm water. No kids pool or play place open. No entertainment at night No entertainment during the day. Some days they have a live band playing for few hrs. Alcoholic drinks are watered down even the wine. Bartenders are rude. Asked for red wine I was told they don’t have it. Few mins later saw the same bartender serving red wine to someone. Their Mexican restaurant Frida is closed. Buffet has limited options which repeat everyday. Food is average at Italian and Asian restaurants. They only serve house wine if you want anything decent you have to pay extra. This is not a 4.5 star resort it’s more like a 3 star resort This is the oldest hard rock property they have and it shows. Where do I start with the one. This is my 4th visit to Cancun and by far the worst property we’ve stayed at. The rooms are okay but nice balcony and ocean views. It’s a small property with few small bars and 4 restaurants. The breakfast buffet is the same everyday. No hot water in the room. We had to call maintenance ev that’s overpriced. Save your money and book somewhere else.

If you like to sleep on your vacation don’t stay here. Music is blasted from the pool from 10am to 7pm and can be heard in all the ocean view rooms. The lobby has loud obnoxious music playing 24 hours a day. The shows are loud and run late. The front desk calls every morning to wake you up with dumb questions like are you enjoying your room? Also, if you like your hotel to reflect the beautiful atmosphere of the Caribbean, this is not the one. The hotel and grounds are dark, ugly, no plants or flowers, crowded, and reeking if air freshener and cigarettes. And instead of the ocean or tropical breezes, all you will here is loud music with the occasional person yelling on a microphone.

We were able to upgrade to Rock Royalty level after arriving. Had I known what Rock Royalty included I would have booked it from the beginning. The hotel staff did everything and anything in their power to make sure you had a great stay. I would definitely recommend Hard Rock Cancun and we will be returning!
