"Let me preface this review by saying I’ve stayed at the Chateau Laurier many times in the past and it has always been excellent. This time around, it was a bit uncomfortable. Check-in took unusually long, then the air conditioning and wifi in my suite was not working. When I attempted to reach out to staff to get both matters resolved — the phone calls went unanswered. Finally, I went down to the lobby to ask in person to get the wifi fixed, which was the priority. The concierge desk sat empty, so I waited. When the concierge finally showed up, he said he would get someone with IT to reach out to me. Nobody ever did. When I asked guest services for a fan for my room because the air conditioner was not working - nobody ever showed up to deliver it. I am hoping this stay was just an anomaly because I have had very positive experiences in years past. One more thing — when I respectfully shared this feedback as I was checking out, the staff member at checkout promised to waive the pet fee for the inconvenience, which I appreciated. I just received my receipt. The pet fee is was not waived. So the promise was made, but not kept. Pretty much sums things up."

"Liked the location to the Ottawa train station and we were able to walk to the hotel within 15 minutes. Hotel front entrance not well identified from the parking lot. This is a sports team hotel and the hotel was busy with teams arriving and leaving. The restaurant is pretty basic and on the expensive side for what you get. For example two coffees, a yogurt parfait and a bagel were over twenty dollars."

"This was a large one bedroom apartment that was very spacious and comfortable. It had everything we needed and was located very close to the Rideau Centre for supplies. Only complaint was that laundry detergent was not provided and that some of the appliances were old or not operating properly."
