I slipped in the pool twice. I was in a wheelchair for three days. An emergency alarm kept going off in the middle of the night not in English. It was terrifying since I couldn't move cause my knee almost broke slipping in the pool beautiful resort no Doctor on the premises first aid people knew nothing no crutches no canes to help me.

The facility was overall very clean. Food was hit or miss one night I did experience food poisoning which left me in my room for a couple days. Beach was nice most of the time, last few days it was pretty dirty and not kept clean. It was unfortunate the pools close at 6pm. Staff most of them friendly and kind. Overall rate 3/5

Staff was great. Room was clean. Food was fair and although there was a lot of variety, it seemed to be the same nearly every day. The fire alarm went off in the middle of the day one day and then in the middle of the night and was ear piercing. No explaination - no all clear. Nothing. I was going to attend a rui fit class that was apparently cancelled due to weather but the pool volleyball was going on at the same time. I wouldn't go back to this RIU resort.

Let’s start when we arrived to our room, there was left over coffee in the coffee maker, a few minutes later a house keeper came in (without knocking or announcing herself). The first night we had dinner at Agave (Mexican specialty restaurant) the food tasted just like the hotel smells (perfume)… and to make things worse, there was a hair in the dessert. Second night we ate at the sports bar, we waited over 45 min for our food. Third night we ate at the buffet, we got food poisoning. The steakhouse was the only decent place. Do not depend on the airport shuttle, they left us stranded we almost missed our flight back home. We ended up having to pay $600 pesos for a taxi to get to the airport fast. I called the shuttle service, they put me on hold for a long time then just hung up on me.

The resort was very nice, especially the 6th floor adults only pool, with a bar. But... we had one major issue with the hotel transportation service; Destination Services. upon arrival they were no where to be found, we went to 2 different airport exits only to give up and pay $183 USD for a 17 mile trip to the Riu Ventura, additionally, when booking the trip through Expedia I was unable to book another transport company through Expedia the final booking page gave me NO OPTIONS for booking an airport transfer. Then I read the reviews for Destination Services, WOW, terrible reviews with the same problem I had. BEWARE OF DESTINATION SERVICES!

We were so blessed to be there! Everything was on the hight level. Especially, we like the buffet the best. The variety of food was excellent. Kids' programs, sanitary, everything was outstanding! Definitely, we will choose RIU in the future.

Some of the food had weird taste to it 5/10 not the best. The service is not the best. When checking in we had our room changed 3 times cause they kept on mixing something up. They wouldn’t refill the conditioner until we asked the front desk. Wouldn’t clean our room until like the 3rd day. The hotel just opened in December but it doesn’t feel new. By the shower the towel hanger was hanging by tape. Elevator was broken a couple times. Every morning at like 7am you can hear the cleaning crew on the hallways and on the top floors seems like they are moving furniture around. The hotel is right next to the road so it is kinda loud, every night you can hear any loud car/motorcycles coming by.

Overall, this is a nice all-inclusive resort! It’s modern, clean and all our needs were met. The food was subpar, but the Italian and Mexican restaurants were okay (only open for dinner). We wish it had a hot tub, umbrellas on the beach, and a room service option.

We constantly had to move rooms, we even had a leak in one of them, and staff proceeded to say i had to stay in the room while the pipes were leaking water out of the ceiling! Staff was horrible not accommodating at all
