A lovely, cosy cottage in beautiful surroundings

We had a really relaxing time here. The cottage is small but that suited us, and the view across the fields filled with all kind of wildlife was superb (not forgetting the chickens next to us and the three walking ducks!). And the huge windmill next to the canal is something to behold. Hans, the host, was really welcoming and helpful and if you want to lean more about the windmill then Google 'Vrouwgeest windmill' and learn how it has been in his family since 1797. The cottage we stayed in was built by Hans from a Dutch hay storage building with a roof that would have been raised and lowered (thus the poles and the pulleys). And as for Holland – glorious. The Dutch are so friendly and speak better English than many Brits I know, and Gouda and the cheese experience is recommended. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and really didn’t want to leave. Thank you Hans..

Quit homestead and beautiful views.

We felt we we trying in the country far from the cities with beautiful sun set. How ever we not far from city centers and a lot of stuff was easy to reach by bikes.

Fabulous stay on the polder

We stayed in the Haystack house which was compact and wonderful for our family. We enjoyed the countryside setting with chickens, fresh eggs, a tour of the windmill on the property, and the boats sailing on the Rhine outside our place. The owner was very friendly and helpful. I recommend this place as a wonderful Dutch experience.

Unique, lovely cottage in beautiful relaxing nature setting

If you like to experience the true feeling of the Dutch countryside don’t hesitate to book this unique property. It’s situated on the property of, and right next to a still working windmill. SUPER clean, modern but very cosy inside, bright, with lots of windows that give you a beautiful view of the surrounding countryside and local wildlife. Absolute privacy and quiet, soothing for the soul. VERY well appointed, everything you might need/want is there. As the windmill is a ‘water mill’, and used to help maintain the waterlevels in the surrounding area, it IS just out of town (Alphen aan de Rijn) you will need to have a car. Owner very helpful and accommodating, great communication. 110% recommend this property.

Erholsame Zeit in perfekter Lage

Von der Buchung, über Check-in, Sauberkeit und Lage des Objekts - alles bestens. Wir haben eine wundervolle Woche dort verbringen können. Mit dem Fahrrad nach Leiden oder Lisse, mit dem Auto innerhalb von 30 - 45 min in Gouda, Den Haag, Delft oder ans Wasser- die Lage war perfekt und idyllisch. Empfehlenswert!

Wunderbarer Urlaub

Es war ein sehr erholsamer Urlaub. Das Ferienhaus liegt sehr idyllisch abseits der Stadt. Die Mühle ist wunderschön und der morgendliche Ausblick auf die Felder einfach toll. Wir wurden morgens von Hühnern begrüßt und von einem Hund besucht. Unser Gastgeber Hans war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Wir werden wiederkommen.

Haystack Haus

Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Urlaub im Haystack Haus. Bei schönem Wetter konnten wir morgens und Abends die Terasse nutzen und die Polderlandschaft beobachten. Das Haystack Haus hat im oberen Schlafzimmer eine Klimaanlage. Die Treppe zum Schlafzimmer ist sehr steil. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

Super Urlaub/Tolles Ferienhaus/Toller Gastgeber

Das Ferienhaus liegt sehr schön direkt neben der Windmühle (die noch im Betrieb ist/sehr imposant). Auf dem Gelände leben darüber hinaus noch Hühner und Schafe. Ländlicher geht’s nicht. Das Haus ist sehr sauber und liebevoll eingerichtet. Die Lage ist bezogen auf Ausflüge perfekt. Alphen, Den Haag, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Gouda… alles sehr schnell erreichbar. Die Niederlande generell aber im speziellen diese Gegend ist für Radfahrer prädestiniert. Der Gastgeber ist super freundlich und sehr hilfsbereit. Das Haus ist zwar tendenziell eher hellhörig aber wir haben das mit einem 4 Jährigen und einem 5 Monate alten Kind super unterbekommen. Die Treppe im Haus ist Bauart -Bedingt etwas steil/klein flächige Stufen (falls relevant). Absolut zu empfehlen! Zu unserem Erstaunen hatten wir trotz der vielen Gewässer keine einzige Mücke.

Tolle Mühle, wunderbares Ambiente

Wir hatten einen wunderbaren Aufenthalt! Obwohl nahe am Ort Aplhen aan den Rijn gelegen liegt die Mühle sehr idyllisch, ruhig und total im Grünen. Wir konnten direkt beim Gastgeber sehr gute Räder mieten und damit z.B. nach Alphen zum Bahnhof oder nach Woubrugge zum Bäcker und zum Einkaufen radeln. Unsere Ferienwohnung war sehr sauber. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

Ruhe und ländliche Idylle

Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Wir schätzten die Ruhe und die tolle Aussicht mit den herrlichen Sonnenuntergängen. Die Unterkunft bietet alles was man braucht, ist sehr sauber und modern gestaltete und die Lage in der Mitte der Niederlande bietet alle Möglichkeiten für Ausflüge nach Den Haag, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Utrecht oder ans Meer. Sehr schöne Ferienwohnung in wunderbarer Umgebung, sehr netter Vermieter, der sich gut und schnell um alles kümmert. Vermietet auch selbst Fahrräder, was sehr bequem ist.
