Holiday house Blomkulla “Flower Hill”

This beautiful typical Swedish wooden house from the 19th century was refurbished in the year 2010 and amongst other things fitted with a balcony. The house comes with 5 rooms spread across roughly 65 square meters a fully equipped kitchen and a bathroom and offers enough space for at least 5 people to stay in. The house is situated next to a beatiful river which is full of fish and you will find numerous lakes nearby for swimming. Another beatiful day trip could be the island "Öland" only about 50 kilometers away.

great stay in spite of misleading information - in key words:
• ad suggests direct access to a river yet the river is not accessible – there is no real path and the woods turn into a swamp • ad states there is a ‘boat for two’, yet the boat it is a toy suitable for at most two children in the shed, two adults cannot use it, and one would have to transport the thing to the water • no sitting opportunity outside – the shed there are dirty tables and chairs • ad suggests a porch to sit to eat, yet it is not part of the actual holiday house. • Ad states 6 sleeps, - there are four matrasses, two for singles (children) and two sized 140 cm x 200 cm – which are not suitable for adults (female 180 +/ male 186 +) • matrasses are very old, hard and partly dirty with a slight unpleasant stench • owner stated there had been problems with the cleaning woman – the house was partly not well cleaned. • bathroom is ok, yet there was no hot water – neighbours callled a plumber - the first two days we had no hot water. • entrance door leads directly into bathroom,– there is no other door to exit/enter the house which can be uncomfortable • ad states that kitchen is ‘fully equipped’ which is a euphemism for a very basic set-up: stove with three pits of which only two could be used at the same time because it is too small • refrigerator has size of 1 ½ mini bars • no freezer • no oven • bin has size of bathroom bin • coffee machine was broken • pots and pans (from the 1950s) could be replaced - were dirty, had to be washed before usage) • ad suggests sofa in the living room – there is none, neither are the cupboard and the big carpet from the pictures there: negative impact on coziness • apart from two big chairs, there are only two dining table chairs • stair case to upper floor is very steep – not suitable for little children and older people, simply dangerous • everywhere in the house small plates with blue ant poison in the open – take care with small children who put stuff in their mouth • old front door entrance cannot be opened • Upon arrival waste container stood full at the side of the road - it reamined full for 2 weeks • container is very small – we had to store waste at front entrance – asked, the owner explained that we could dispose it behind local supermarket – there were bigger containers monitored by cctv - it was not the intention that individuals dispose their waste there – locals confirmed that it is not allowed – • no barrels to split waste • no folder with explanations about house
