We had a little confusion upon arrival, because #19 is full of *numbered* apartments, and this was #19E. The E stands for escondida, because you have to duck through the laundry room and pop out the other side to discover this gem of a little house.
It has windows for ventilation, but on three sides they are about two feet from the exterior wall. It gets gloriously dark at night, and if you want a view, well, there is the upper terrace! There is a dishwasher in the photo, but it doesn't work. Otherwise, everything was as advertised. We added a pancake turner and a pair of shears to the kitchen tools, but there are lots of pots and pans and plates/bowls/glasses/mugs/silverware.
It was a stormy week, so the internet was a little unreliable, but a 100Q tigo card set us up with 6.6 GB and unlimited Facebook and WhatsApp, way more than I could use in a week. The private patio is lovely, and my daughter enjoyed the hammock. There is a high cabinet with a keyed lock where we could stash our valuables.
The property manager was super responsive on WhatsApp. It's a company, rather than an individual, which we chose because we once had an individual cancel on us on very short notice. It was great to deal with a professional, and the office is right next door.
We were two moms and two teen daughters, so the moms each had a private room and the girls shared the double room. The house is just a couple blocks from Central Park. Perfect!
What a wonderful find! Lots of space, including apartment's own private courtyard and shared second floor terrace from which you can see all three volcanoes, including Volcan de Fuego's smoke during the day and lava at night. The onsite staff are kind and very accommodating. Location is convenient to Arco de Santa Catalina, Iglesia de la Merced, and Parque Central, yet secluded from the street noise. Couch is not comfy, internet was spotty at times, and stepping into the master bath is a bit challenging because of its height. But otherwise an excellent option.
