Drift Inn 16: Dog-friendly, crow's nest, ocean view
New in our program, this home has many great reviews from past guests.
Exciting upgrade for the 2025 season: new carpet installed in all three bedrooms.
Drift Inn to this classic and charming beach cottage with all the comforts of home, where you'll enjoy easy access to the beach just 350 feet away.
Located five lots back from the Atlantic, Drift Inn offers a great location, only 800 yards from the fishing pier and near plenty of eateries and scenes. The screened porch and grill provide plenty of reasons to stay outside, as does the rooftop crow's nest with breezy ocean views. There are also two small decks at the back of the home for extra sunbathing opportunities.
Inside, everyone in the family will appreciate the three TVs, three VCRs, two DVD players, stereo/CD player, and high-speed WiFi. The open living/dining/kitchen area provides ample space to spread out. At the end of the day, retire to one of the three comfortable bedrooms.
Yes, pets were good as allowed. Ours is a service dog. There were multiple scratches high and low on the bedroom door, inside, where apparently pets were locked in at some point. House was very old, not advised of that. Floors were dirty evidensed by the bottom of our bare feet.. But it was arranged and otherwise, clean. The furniture was VERY old, and used. Dirty from use. Uncomfortable, with no end tables to place a drink or snack. The TV's didn't work, had to call a tech to remedy. You had to use multiple remotes, and no instruction sheet to explain. No curtains blinds or shades for privacy. From the road, at night, you can see in the living and dining areas. The grill was filthy, and like what you'd find at a campground. The CROWS NEST feature, had no view of the nearby ocean, only tree tops. The ceiling fan in the livingroom did not work. No cushions for the patio furniture. We would never stay there again, nor recommend it. Location as great. VACASA was responsive.
We recently stayed at this property and wanted to share some important feedback.First and most concerning: the bunk bed ladder in our sonâs room had several loose nails. This is a serious safety issueâespecially for a childâs sleeping area. Honestly, itâs hard to understand why nails were used instead of screws in such a critical fixture.Second, the dishwasher was completely nonfunctional during our stay. There was no water entering the unit, and itâs clear this wasnât a new issue. It simply wasnât working when we arrived, which was both inconvenient and disappointing.Additionally, the Wi-Fi was extremely unreliable, making it difficult to stay connected even briefly. While we appreciated Vacasaâs quick responses to our messages, unfortunately no actual action was taken to resolve the dishwasher issue. As a consequence I asked for a partial refundâand again, there was no follow-up.We booked this stay with the expectation of a safe and functional space for our family, but the lack of maintenance and meaningful support made it a frustrating experience. We hope this feedback helps improve future guest experiences, but as it stands, we were deeply disappointed.Sincerely,Guido
The house couldâve been a lot cleaner. As we stayed over the a full week, you could tell the house was not cleaned thoroughly and we found trash in and outside the house. To finish out the week, we ran into an ant problem and no one from Vacasa never followed up. For the price, it was a rip off and totally disappointed.
Our stay did not start good. The code to the home did not work. Then once in the microwave was dirty. The cog foot was not clean. The floor was not swept or mopped. The shower curtain was filthy. The carpets had not been vacuumed. The shower head outside was rusted. The bedspread smelled of cigarette smoking.
We called and everything was fixed the next day.
Other than the weather, our trip was enjoyable. The Drift Inn is quaint and cozy. Enjoyed a good read on the screened deck while it rained was relaxing and comfortable. The only real issue is that the home is surrounded by overgrown trees (hard to get that Ocean View) and covered... I mean COVERED, in Poison Ivy. Also, the "fish cleaning" area could be tidied up.... the last people who stayed there, put their fish mess in the trash can but never took it to the road to be picked up so we smelled dead fish until we realized where it came from. Other than that, very accomodating.
