Wonderful apartment and stay in L’eixample. So much within walking distance — the metro station, gothic quarter, the barceloneta, parks and plazas, luxury and non-luxury shopping, wonderful cafes and restaurant. I’d choose this neighborhood again and again. The apartment was well appointed and had beautiful light and windows in the front of the house. The space was definitely more centered around the foyer and living room at the expense of the second bedroom, which was dark, cramped and had two twin beds. Primary bedroom and bathroom were great. My only complaints were about the odors — the refrigerator had a foul odor, the washing machine smelled of mildew and the neighbor below was chain smoker so there was a lot of smoke smell in the apartment. We loved having the beautiful doors/windows open but had to choose air movement with cigarette smoke versus still air without cigarette smoke. He could have been another renter so don’t let it stop you but be aware that Europeans STILL SMOKE in droves!
