Basic but comfortable
Our host, Lenny, was very responsive and helpful—he answered messages quickly and gave us great tips on local stores and even traffic updates when we were leaving. The house looked like the photos but was quite basic, as other reviews had mentioned. It was surface clean, though it could use a deeper clean in some areas. The beds were comfortable, which was a big plus. The backyard, while nice to have, was a bit overgrown and could use some attention. Nice sunshine on the deck throughout the day. The living room setup was a bit limited for a four-bedroom house—there was just one couch that seated three people, which felt a little tight when we were all trying to relax together. A few more seating options would make the space much more comfortable for larger groups. There was the option to watch TV downstairs also. We also found the kitchen quite minimally stocked. The pots were great, but the frying pans need to be replaced, We had to purchase baking sheets and other basics. We were visiting our son in college and hoped to do a bit of home cooking, so this was a bit of a challenge. The location was very close to the college, where we spent most of our time. Despite some road construction on the street, the neighborhood was surprisingly quiet overall. We were a little uneasy at first after witnessing a theft at a nearby grocery store on our first afternoon, but thankfully it didn’t affect the rest of our visit. TIP: The floors are cold bring slippers.
