You have to know Beijing to understand why the location/price is ok. Clean enough but poor lighting in the bathroom let's down an otherwise cheap decent bed for the night.
Staff are as with all JinJiang's; ok. Friendly enough but likely to lack English skills. It's 20quid in central Beijing. Museum's in surrounding area, close to the Qing dynasty mint.
Hotel was not easy to locate. Even on GPS it was located wrongly! Nothing around the area. Far from most things. Only good thing was it was about 6km from Beijing South Train Station.
Cleanliness was very poor in general, especially compared to other Jinjiang inns we have visited. Staff were very friendly and helpful as possible, however no one spoke any English which made communication difficult. Location was not great, 10 minute walk to nearest store and hidden behind other addresses. Address provided on hotels.Com did not translate and extensive searching was required. I recommend hotels.Com begin providing addresses in Chinese or other local language at time of booking to allow easier communication with local taxi drivers.
Friendly staff, check in was quick and easy. Wi-Fi did not really work too well, no signal in my room, and not great in the lobby area, but there is a desktop pc near the reception which is free to use. I received two phone calls while using this computer and the staff came to find me and were very professional. One young man showed me to my room as it was clear I hadn't understood the receptionist's instructions of which was to go. They struggled with English but we got by with a mixture of my very basic Chinese, hand gestures and photos etc. When I asked about getting to the zoo, they advised me which bus I should take and where to catch it (lots of different buses pass by the stops just outside the hotel). Taxi driver struggled to find this hotel, but I don't know why as it was near a main road with other hotels and seemed quite popular. Room was large enough and shower had good pressure hot water and the usual slippers, toothbrush and comb were provided along with hair and body gel in the shower. Check out was a little slow in the morning, but that is a minor point.
