Welcome to Driftwood Cottage, a cozy lakeside retreat where you'll feel right at home from the moment you arrive. Nestled in a quiet lakeside community, our cottage is a haven for families, boaters, and even your furry friends. You'll love the private boat access just a two-minute walk away, perfect for a day of fishing, cruising, or simply relaxing by the water no matter the time of year. We have access to the lake year round.

The Space & Amenities
Driftwood Cottage is a spacious 1,165 sq ft home that invites you to immerse yourself in the wonders of Maine. Our open living room and kitchen layout is perfect for spending quality time together, and our cozy reading nook/living room are stocked with board games, puzzles, and books.

• Bedroom 1: Queen Bed, with a box fan and seasonal AC, and blackout shades
• Bedroom 2: Queen Bed with a box fan and blackout shades
• Bedroom 3: Full-sized Bunk Beds with a box fan and blackout shades.

• Ninja Drip Coffee maker, electric tea kettle, and air fryer.
• Complimentary spices, coffee, olive oil, and tea kettle.
• A well-equipped kitchen with all the essentials to prepare meals, including a large refrigerator.
General Features:
• Free high-speed wireless internet.
• On-site washer/dryer with detergent and dryer sheets.
• Linens, towels, washcloths, and makeup washcloths provided. Separate lake towels are also available.

Step outside to enjoy the outdoors from our front deck. Our property is set up for total relaxation and family fun.

• Outdoor dining table with seating for 6 (seasonal).
• Two private kayaks for your use.
• Two fire pits: a private propane gas fire pit on the deck and a wood-burning Solo Stove.
• Large propane gas grill, perfect for family cookouts.
• Bring your boat and enjoy direct access to Lake Great Pond from our shared dock with a private boat slip. You can also use our private boat launch so you can bypass the crowded public launch/parking.
• Access Lake Great Pond in the winter via access for ice fishing, you can use your snowmobiles

• Augusta: The state capital is a 15-minute drive.
• Waterville (Colby College): A 20-minute drive.

Other Details to Note:
Guest Access & Parking: The entire home and property are available for your private use. You can access the home 24/7 during your stay with a door keypad. Ample parking for 5 vehicles plus additional parking is available at the lake access. There is parking big enough for a boat trailer right across from the lake access. There is plenty of parking for snowmobile trailers. The water access is available in the winter. You can drive your snowmobiles on the lake from the lake access.

Dogs: Dogs are always welcome! We understand they are a part of the family. The one-time non-refundable fee of $150 covers all pets for the entire stay.

Inclement Weather: We are in a quiet lakeside community and may experience brief power outages during storms. We have someone who plows the driveway, and shovels are provided for your convenience.

Maine Vacation with Family

The home was perfect for family fun kayaking, swimming and boating. The location to Great Pond was great with a beach/launch area we all enjoyed. We brought out Golden Retriever Ruby who learned to swim this week and actually jump off the dock. All of us had a fun week.

The cottage at 8 Bass Lane, Belgrade, ME is lovely in every way. The furnishings are tasteful, comfortable, and in excellent condition. The cottage is bright and spacious and all the appliances are in good condition. The washer and dryer are gigantic; the smart TV is large; and the kitchen is fully equipped and a delight to work in. The outside deck is big and has beautiful furniture with plush cushions. Alana and her husband were attentive and responsive whenever I had a question and responded immediately to assist us in whatever way they could. So why did I give the cottage only a “3” rating? Because we were not on the water. We could view Great Pond but only if we looked across our neighbors grass and between the cottages that were themselves on Great Pond. The cottage is supposed to have a sunset exposure, but it doesn’t because the sunset is off to the side and obscured by tall trees. The owners had two kayaks for our use, but they would have had to be carried at least one-tenth of a mile to the public dock to get them in the water. They were too heavy and awkward for either of us or for our 58 year old son to carry that distance. So, in summary, we loved the cottage but not its surroundings and decided almost immediately that we would not return.

Wonderful cottage

We had a great time at Driftwood Cottage. The location was perfect! We could see the lake from our deck and only had to walk past a few houses to get to the shared beach area. It was very quiet and relaxing. The cottage was clean and comfortable and had almost everything we needed for the week. Alana was very responsive to my questions and needs. The lake is absolutely beautiful. I can honestly say that this was one of the best places we have rented from VRBO.

Perfect spot!

With one kid already in college locally and the other on their way there in August we have got to know this neck of the woods quite well in recent years. Driftwood Cottage provides a perfect base for visits to the area with great access to Augusta and Waterville while sitting in the idyllic Belgrade Lakes region.We don’t visit Maine for fancy, we want practical, comfortable, clean and convenient and this house that in spades. We also greatly appreciated the dog-friendliness!Hosts could not have been more welcoming or communicative. So look out, we could be back soon!Thank you!

Cozy winter stay

Good space for 3 adults and two kids to stay, 25 min commute to Colby college and Quarry Road trails. Couch was comfy and nice for gathering. Beds also comfy and the double bunks were helpful for our group. Plow came quickly after snowstorm. We didn’t get out on the lake due to cold but nice to have it close by.

Accurate listing, great location (easy drive to Augusta for dinner), really peaceful and quiet. GPS had a minor problem right at the end trying to send us through a neighbor's trailer, but we figured it out (the external pictures helped). Loved our stay there, even though it was just overnight on the way to somewhere else. Next time, we'll stay for a week.

The place was nice and clean. The area was quiet. Only two things that were not major… There was no railing to the upstairs. The TV remote was not easy to use and it was confusing to find a channel to watch. Other than that, it was a great place to stay.

Everything went well with our stay. Alana was timely and helpful in all our communications. The property was clean and exactly as presented in the listing. My wife is handicapped with mobility issues and found getting around was no problem. The only challenge for us was using the TV, since we are not up on the latest technology. We also aren’t familiar with the immediate area which made it harder for us to find alternatives to our planned outside activities on rainy days.
