With the hope for diminished covid 19 restrictions in January we decided to do something special by staying a private home during our summer vacation. To our surprise we learned that such a home was available very close to where I grew up. Moreover, the home was owned by a childhood friend. Our whole family looked forward to a vacation that was different.
Our stay a Donna’s home lived up to more than our expectations and was more enjoyable than we could have imagined when we first booked. Returning to Belle Cote where I grew up and staying in a home that I visited as a child recreated a carefree feeling of my childhood.
Donna’s attention to guest needs along with her special touches made the experience very pleasant and relaxed. Her displays of Inuit art recalled her nursing career in the Canadian North.
Centrally located, the home provides a panoramic view of Belle Cote and Margaree Harbour. The sunporch provides a front row seat to view the famous Belle Cote sunsets.
Three bedrooms gave our children, their spouses, and their children an opportunity to visit and comfortably share a few days together.
The convenience of the well-equipped kitchen, laundry and bathroom facilities allowed more time to enjoy the village and visits with local people, who we had not seen in many years.
The convenience of the house made staying indoors on rainy days a pleasant experience.
Staying at Donna’s house made our vacation the most relaxed and carefree experience in many years. The expectations following our decision in January were more than satisfied. We look forward to returning in the future
Our daughter Michelle and her husband Peter offer additional expressions of their enjoyable stay.
“We had a wonderful stay in Donna’s beautiful home with incredible views of the Northumberland Strait.
The large sunporch is ideal for watching Belle Cote's beautiful sunsets.
The kitchen was fully equipped, which made meal preparations easy.
Donna was also a very welcoming and accommodating host. We hope to return for a longer stay in the future!”
