Cabin was fine but master mattress was in need of replacement. Lumpy with hills and valleys. The location which you don't get to know until booked was not great. Right off 321 so you hear the traffic and watch it go by on the balcony. Very little area for dog or kids. Location ruined it for us.
My wife and I and our two grandsons spent three nights here in June. Everyone loved the cabin and we had a fine time but there were several minor problems:o The strong foul smell upon entry was disconcerting. We had to open several windows to air out the place. The smell returned each time we were away for the day and we had to air out the cabin again. This would have been a show stopper if we were in the cabin during the winter months and couldn't open the windows.o Ants joined us in the kitchen and dining room a couple times. They were keen on eating scraps in the dishwasher.o We found the dishwasher loaded with clean but soaking wet dishes that we had to dry before using and putting away.o A couple of the ceiling fans did not work: the one in the living room and the one in the master bedroom.o Some of the windows were problematic: the upper sashes were loose and came down when the lower sash was open. This made it difficult to close and lock these windows.
We had a great time in this cozy cabin! The location was perfect â super close to downtown Blowing Rock and Tweetsie Railroad. Had our two little boys and they loved the upstairs loft/nook. The kitchen and bathrooms were updated and clean. Would have given 5 stars for everything except the cabin had a very foul odor that seemed to worsen each day. We didnât spend too much time at the residence (except to sleep) or else it would have been a bigger issue. We reported it to the property managers but did not get a response. We would absolutely stay again if the odor was addressed and resolved!
We had a great stay, the cabin was the perfect size for 4 adults and our teenager. The property manager had excellent communication. Only issue was the fireplace was not working, which was a bummer on our cold and windy visit.
Super clean. All furniture is comfortable. The kids loved the loft area with the gaming system. Super convienent location! About 5-10 minutes from blowing rock and Boone. Right off the road so itâs also easy to find. Putting this on my favorites list!
