Our property includes a few hosts onsite that are all family and PASSIONATE about this ranch, all that it offers, and ultimately, its’ success. Because of this, we believe we offer a all hands on deck, immersive informative, and inclusive experience from our hosts’ and hostess’. From full property tours, hayrides and cookouts, unique viewings of our working ranch and everything that a “day at the ranch” entails, interactive one on one with our animals, sunset rides and nighttime fire pit chats with s’mores- we really believe in our place and it’s offerings of a true utopia

If peace and solitude is what you’re looking for, you’ve found it! Located at the end of a secluded country road, Rockin’ Star Ranch is a luxurious getaway where time seems to stand still. RSR is about escaping urban life to re-connect with family, friends and all that nature has to offer. This VRBO listing is actually 1 of 10 different listings located on the ranch (sleeps 50+ adults) Cowboy corral 2 can be booked under this listing or the entire ranch can be booked under its own Rockin Star ranch listing. Cowboy corral 2 is located in our rodeo arena and is within 20 feet of our horse stalls. Horses are stalled near the rooms on occasion and its a great experience for animal lovers! Very peaceful and quiet. Guests share a bathroom, kitchen area, and laundry room. Guests are welcome to use the outdoor bar, the pool, fish in our ponds, observe and maybe even feed the animals, explore our property, and tour our event venue. Our amenities include an outdoor kitchen, pool, large pastures, tire swings, courtyards, cabins, fishing ponds (catch and release), the woods, and a game room which is located in the garage of the main house. Game room has ping pong, darts, horse shoes, corn hole and a telescope! Interested in horseback riding? A hayride? Maybe want to experience a day in the life of a cowboy? Fun and Accurate!

What an experience. We booked our stay at cowboy corral 3 and were unsure of how’d it actually look or be. Let me say this - it’s exactly what they portray. It was such a serene property and the animals were such a joy to watch. My son had fun with horses, the cats/dogs roaming around and they even had a fawn that you could feed. The pool area was nice! I honestly cannot say enough good things, the owner communicated with us very well and they even had an accessible washer/dryer, which is a must, especially when you have kids! Overall we loved it, and we will definitely be back.

Ranch Vacation Texas Style

We had a great stay at the Rockin Star Ranch! I have 3 boys under 7 and they had such a great time! We stayed in the stables and it was perfect for us. They love farm animals and the outdoors, so this working ranch vacation was right up our alley. Darrell and his family took great care of us and were attentive to all our needs. 5 Stars for comfort and hospitality! They went out of their way to ensure the boys were having a great time. Our boys got to feed all the animals, ride horses, fish the ponds, explore all the land and go swimming in the pool. It was a perfect vacation for us to build a lot of great memories together. I highly recommend this stay for those families who love farm/ranch life!

Fishing Tournament Perfect Retreat

We stayed here because we had a fishing tournament on Lake Somerville and this place was amazing. Clean, quiet, plenty of space and very, very secure. We loved waking up and seeing all the animals and the farm. Highly recommend just for a quiet getaway or a place to stay for a tournament!

I typically dont leave reviews but Darrell was awesome. He went way and beyond just being a host. He let the kids get involved with the ranch. We all hand fed the cows and got to see his kids get chased by the bull. We will definitely be back!

We LOVE Rockin Star!!! My family begs to go back. Such a great place to let kids be kids. Great people, just like family. My grand girls bring their horses who also receive 5 star accommodations. Beautiful pool and simply lovely, comfortable, and beautifully decorated cottages for us humans. The public rooms for events are exquisite. Can’t say enough good things. Just pack your jeans and swim suit and go. (Better make a reservation- they’re book quickly. ). J. Greer. PS. Grands are still there. We’ll have to drag them home sometime before school starts.

Awesome family ranch get-away

I booked the Ornyx Horn for a quick weekend trip from Houston for me & my 3 children. The room is literally in the horse arena with the stables. It was amazing! My son picked eggs from the chicken coop
 and we cooked them for breakfast. Not as adventurous? All of the other places to stay on property are well- appointed individual cottages. There are horses, emus, pigs, goats and elk on property. Darrell not only let my kids ride horses- but let them help with brushing and saddling the horses. If you just want to get outside and get away, you will love this place. We stayed in the off-season, but we plan to come back when it warms up to enjoy the pool.

Fun and relaxing

We stayed in the Oryx Iron room and it was great! Cozy bed with two more twin beds. We got to walk out of our room and pet the horses, see the pretty chickens and two gorgeous turkeys! Also, fun to see the many pigs a little further down. The bathroom is big with a great shower. And the separate kitchen even has a small oven and stove not to forget about the large space for gathering too!!! Darrel Griffin our host was available when we needed him and very courteous. Overall a great place to stay and enjoy the country.

Beautiful & relaxing ranch + awesome host!

Our family needed a break from city life, and Rockin Star Ranch came highly recommended from a work colleague. It exceeded our expectations! From the time we drove in, we could feel ourselves relax. Staying in the rooms located in the barn/stables was perfect for our family. The horses, chickens & turkeys, goats, and pigs were all within steps of our room (all but horses located outside of barn). Chickens = fresh eggs in the morning! One of the hands, Arturo, showed us where the horse feed was located, and we were able to feed the horses out of our hand. The host, Darrell, was exceptional. He welcomed us with a drive through the property, and made us feel like we were at home. With every request or question we had, Darrell quickly responded. I especially appreciated his realness. It felt like he truly tries to "see" his guests. He went over and beyond when teaching us how to ride a horse. Very patient and great teacher! Another night, he setup the firepit and had everything for making s'mores. Needless to say, all kiddos were very happy. :) Highly recommend Rockin Star! Can't wait to return! Appreciate Darrell and his crew.

Rocking’ Star Ranch Round Up

Had the best time staying at Darrell’s hidden gem! We had a big group 5 families staying in town for a wedding weekend. The ranch is outside of town but the small cabins were perfect for everyone with the amazing courtyard area and pool for gatherings. We made breakfast tacos at the outdoor kitchen and the kids loved swimming in the pool, playing ping pong and riding bikes with Bailey (the ranch dog). We will definitely come back and hopefully stay a little longer.

Highly Recommend!

Rockin' Star Ranch is one of our favorite places to visit and we look forward to the trip year after year. The property is beautiful and always pristine. The sunset views are stunning. We prefer and enjoy the stable suite and waking to the friendly farm animals patiently waiting for their breakfast. Whether it be lounging by the pool, fishing at the lake, the tire swings or horseback riding there is plenty of entertainment and no shortage of memory-making opportunities. Highly recommend!

Best Stay EVER !

I have stayed in many rental properties and this is my favorite stay by far. Darrel is an amazing host. I loved our room, it was very clean and comfortable for my infant and I. We had stayed here for my sisters birthday weekend and she can agree this was one of the best weekends of our lives. Darrel and his friends and family were very welcoming and to say the hospitality was perfect is an understatement. We were sad to go and will definitely be back with all of our family !! If you're thinking about booking, this is your sign to go ahead and book! P.S. horsebackriding was a beautiful and comfortable experience !

Stayed in the "Bridal Suite" in the Event Center

We originally booked the "Oryx Horn" room which is located in the barn, but got upgraded to the bridal suite upstairs in the event center. Darrell was great at communicating with me and suggesting restaurants and places to visit around the Brenham area. Our room was super clean but keep in mind that this is a working ranch and a bit rustic! We thoroughly enjoyed the fire pit on Saturday evening and visiting with the animals and their babies in the barn. A lovely property!

Even better the second time around!

This is my second time to visit. Fell in love with the property the first time and booked the same room, Onyx, in the stables, this time around also. I brought a friend and her three kids because I knew they would enjoy staying in the stables with the horses and pigs and goats. They did!! Everything was perfect. Room was clean and the owner, Darrell, even put in a beautiful lounge area next to our room and gave us a great space to hang out and drink our coffee in the morning and be able to look at the horses. There’s always something new to enjoy every time we come. Looking forward to the next visit!

Great get away

Great place to get away and relax! The owner, Darrell, was very responsive and made us feel like we were coming to visit family even before we got there. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and the pool and outdoor kitchen are relaxing. Hayrides are a must! Kids of all ages will love it! Bring your fishing poles! Cook if you want, but its a short drive in to town and there are some fantastic restaurants to enjoy!

Great Get Away from City Life

Great Experience

The family had an amazing time. Darrell was a super friendly host and has done a phenomenal job on this property. The kids had a great time with the animals, swimming, fishing, and we even got a hay ride in! The only thing that would have made this better is if they would have cleaned during our stay. It looks like they only prep for our arrival and didn't take the trash out while we were there. We also had a few hiccups with some amenities like not having a blow-dryer and the grill not working on e of the days. But all in all, we really enjoyed our time there.

Ideal place to take a moment and just breathe!

From the moment I submitted the first inquiry to the drive away from the property on our way back home - I knew this was the best decision I could have made for our family’s time away this summer. It isn’t easy to find a place that works for a group my size. (2 adults, and 8 kids - with ages ranging from 20 down to 7). But the ranch not only offers lodging but opportunities for all to enjoy each other and the incredible beauty that is Texas country. The owner, Darryl, is fantastic. He answered all my many many questions before arriving and really shined when we were on property. He was available whenever he was needed and truly went above and beyond to make sure we were all enjoying our time at the ranch. If I could sum up our trip and how my family feels about it - it’s by sharing this: ALL my kids are already asking to go back! Perfect Getaway

We have stayed multiple times and this one was nothing less than another perfect getaway! My three girls and I absolutely love spending time at Rockin Star Ranch and our favorite place to stay is in the Oryx and Elk rooms in the stables! We love being close to the animals and the new outdoor living area is amazing. Every evening was spent there eating dinner, playing games and watching movies. We fished, swam, ran, relaxed, enjoyed every second of a hayride and feeding the animals, played games, met new friends, collected fresh veggies and eggs and as always didn’t want to leave. Darrell is an outstanding host who is continually improving the property and the experience of staying here. We can not wait to return!

Amazing

The owner is wonderful. He took the group on a hayride and introduced us to the horses as well as cows... allowed us to help feed them. The animals were amazing. The whole experience was amazing!

We were looking for a weekend getaway during quarantine and Rocking Star was ideal! Everyone had a blast especially our 9yr old. The property is beautiful and extremely well kept. The accommodations were clean and comfortable, Darrell is a class act.

Peaceful getaway

Our stay was wonderful! Darrell was very accommodating. He made sure we had everything we needed and communication was great. The kids really enjoyed interacting with the animals and the pool was awesome. The ranch is beautiful and peaceful. We would definitely come back and hope we get the chance again soon!

Beautiful relaxing getaway weekend

We had the best time during our weekend visit to Texas Rockin Ranch. Darrell was there from when we pulled up to make sure we were comfortable and has what we needed. We loved having up close and personal access to the horses (one born the night we were there!) not to mention the chickens (and fresh eggs!), baby fawn, baby goat and pigs. Our two preschoolers who were thrilled by it all. The beds were so comfortable and the whole facility was well kept. The pool and outdoor kitchen area were so much fun, glad we brought food to grill so we could enjoy some outdoor living! We hope to be back again and bring friends!
