Located 6 km from Siena, the private (non-shared) country house have a swimming pool in the garden 6 x 3 mt open from May 15th to October 15th. It's located in an exclusive position on the top of a hill from which you can enjoy a spectacular 360 ° view that embraces the Chianti area and the area of "Crete Senesi". The building, a typical farmhouse, is made of stone and brick with wooden floors and has a well-groomed furniture, with original pieces from the beginning of the century. Air conditioning in the bedrooms. The house is surrounded by 2 hectares of land with 350 olive trees.

Host was very responsive to our needs and questions. The location is exceptional for viewing sunsets and the skyline of Siena. We used the villa as a base for day trips to Assisi, Florence, Siena and wineries. The house itself has comfortable community space and bedrooms are very comfortable. We cooked our dinners in the villa in which the kitchen was well equipped. Highly recommend to those who want the quiet of the countryside.

The location is a bit remote, if one wants to walk to a village or grocery store, but the incredible views from the property, overlooking the Tuscan hills and valleys are breathtaking! While the TV did not work and some of the screens were broken, the host was very responsive to all of our needs.

Our First Time in Italy

The property was a peaceful, quiet, rustic and nostalgic farmhouse. You can feel the love of this family in the furnishings & decor. Comfortable bedrooms & spacious areas to relax & socialize. The views are truly amazing and you will never tire of this beautiful scenic scape! Siena can be seen in the distance. Ricardo was a wonderful host & very responsive to anything we needed including giving us recommendations for local dining, great wineries, and notable attractions in Siena. We loved our stay & and our first experience in the Tuscany region. It was a great place to begin our Italy adventure!

Beautiful

It was everything and more than we expected. We arrived to a beautiful dinner outside, that Ricardo and wife prepared. The dinner was delicious and the views were incredible. Ricardo would always respond with any of our questions. I recommend booking wineries. That was an amazing day. The house accommodated 10 adults very comfortable. A castle on a hill

One of the most phenomenal views you will get in the area. Renting this place is definitely just worth it for the incredible pictures you’ll get. This house is on a hilltop just off the highway and it’s very rustic and authentic. We rented in the winter which proved to be a little difficult because were used to the way Americans heat their house versus how Europeans heat their house. But we were able to overcome that pretty quickly. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils and cutlery. The beds are very comfortable and there are heaters in the room to keep you warm. The host is extremely responsive. I will take issue and not give five stars because of the problems with the electricity. Please keep in mind that this was during the winter and we needed heat, which would draw a lot of amperage off of the houses’ electricity grid. I would expect to have a dishwasher and stove to work at the same time without an issue or blowing out a fuse in the house. But it seemed to happen a lot. Unfortunately, the house is not wired properly that it could allow multiple appliances to be activated at the same time. I think this is a huge drawback and it needs to be fixed. Be that as it may you will not have this issue in the summer unless you’re running a lot of fans. I would definitely stay here again!

Fantastic location

Great place with amazing views

Very spacious and the views are just beautiful. Ricardo is helpful and communicative. Very close to Siena and about an hour from all the major sites. Would definitely recommend this place to stay!

We had a wonderful stay here. The owners communication was great, very helpful to all of my questions. Arranged dinner twice for our family at the villa that was amazing! We did not rent a car and regretted that afterwards. Even stull, the owner arranged a ride for us to the grocery, bank and pharmacy! So very helpful. Highly recommend!

Two Wonderful Weeks in Tuscany

The villa was clean and comfortable but what we enjoyed most were the views especially the sunsets. Having a glass of wine while sitting on the terrace was delightful. The kitchen was adequately equipped and the bedrooms were roomy and comfortable. Ricarrdo was always available to address our needs and answer questions. We took day trips to Florence, Siena, Pienza, Chianti region, Montepulciano, Volterra and Vinci all within 75 minutes drive from the villa. We were able to get all the groceries we needed at the COOP about 10 minutes away.

Picture postcard view!

The view from the property is fantastic and could not be beaten - you can watch the sun set over the towers of Siena in the distance. The pool and deck were a perfect place for chilling out and catching the sun, and we had all of our meals on the terrace, which has amazing views but enough shelter from the sun. 5 adults and 3 children spent a week here and we were very comfortable - plenty of space and facilities, and the air conditioning was an absolute bonus given it was 38C for the first few days. Riccardo could not have been more helpful, coming over on Saturday evening to change the configuration of the beds, giving us recommendations of places to eat nearby, and even texting us details of how to watch the Palio on TV! A wonderful week.

This property is perfectly located near Siena and centrally located to many wonderful Tuscan towns. Wineries are all around. The property has fantastic views of the surrounding countryside. Great vantage point to see the countryside of Italy outside Siena

fit our family of 7 comfortably with room to spare. was tricky finding the place but once found, it was a perfect vantage point to relax and see the beautiful countryside. I would definitely return if given the opportunity.

Better than expected

Our stay at Villa il Colle was magical! We could hardly believe as we approached from the highway that this house on the hill would be ours for the week! We were two families of 4, with teenagers, and our stay was idyllic. Every photo you see is accurate- and actually doesn’t capture the beauty enough. The house was very comfortable- even during a heat wave. The kitchen was cosy. The table outside was our spot most of the time- to read, to look, to eat, to watch the sunset. We had everything we needed. It is well situated for travel around Tuscany, while also being slightly removed. We were thrilled to hear the pheasants. The kids loved the pool. We had an exceptional dinner cooked by Iliana, with Riccardo’s commentary. They are a lovely family and we felt very welcome in their home.

Near Siena

The house it self is very charming and comfortable. Our host Riccardo was very helpful and attended to every request we made. Even helped us arrange tax transportation and sending us written instructions in Italian that we could pass on to our driver. We had a wonderful dinner that Riccardo and his wife and Daughter cooked for us. Very authentic and delicious. We had enough left overs for another dinner the following night. The meal and wines and desserts were delicious. Note there is an extra charge for this but it was definitely worth it. Riccardo also introduced us to Paola to take a private tour through Montalcino. It was as good as promised. The only negative we found was the location which was a bit far to rely on transport and as such if we do it again I will rent a car. The house is fantastic and very suitable for a family to stay. The rain was unusual and we were told this rarely happens in May.

Amazing week in Tuscany

The owner went above and beyond to help us find the house and show us all the amenities. We set up a cooking class/dinner with he and his wife that was unforgettable. Delicious and plentiful. The location of the house is perfect for traveling around Florence, Pisa, Lucca, San Gimiangano etc. Don’t miss the wine tour with Ricardo’s friend Paula. We had a family of 10 and the house has plenty of room and outdoor space as well as seating. Not sure if the house had been vacant for a few weeks but it could have used a good moping/dusting. Another renter had mentioned the dates furniture and they are correct. Both couches have old worn slip covers over them. None of this stopped us from having a wonderful stay in a beautiful area.

Amazing views, antique house

My heart would sing with joy every morning and every evening when looking upon this view. Even when it was cloudy and rainy, it was relaxing to sip my appropriate beverage and watch the scene change. The house is old, so the challenges of an old house accompanied our visit. That being said, I’d stay there again. Riccardo was a pleasant host, giving wonderful recommendations for restaurants and wineries. He gave us a map to the various villages to visit. He was helpful and informative.

Beautiful villa on a hilltop setting

This villa has it all! The kitchen was well equipped, spacious bedrooms, roomy living quarters, and great bathrooms. The location is amazing with a panoramic view. The sunsets are breathtaking! We also booked a cooking class with Ricardo. His lovely wife Eliana and daughter Sara did a wonderful job teaching us many different courses of Italian foods. We ate outside with candle and starlight, sipping wine as the delicious meal was served. We highly recommend this place. We’ve stayed at many HomeAways through the years and found this one of the very best.
