I stayed for 5 nights with my daughter whilst visiting my elderly mum in nearby Milton Under Wychwood. We had such a beautiful stay and Julie and Ian were wonderful hosts. We loved the hut with it's beautiful touches and the outlook over the fields is stunning. Thank you again. We would love to stay again sometime.
We had a wonderful stay in the sheperd hut. The hut is absolutely cozy, and we had everything we needed. We enjoyed every single minute of our stay. The hut is perfect for enjoying the peacful sourroundings just by sitting in the garden or explore the lovely Cotswolds. Julia and Ian are such warm-hearted people who made us feel most welcome. We can recommend the sheperds hut 100% and will definitely come again, if we are in the Cotswolds.
We loved Julia and Ianâs place, itâs surrounded by countryside and wildlife and very peaceful and quiet, Julia and Ian were very friendly and also helpful with local knowledge , weâve already booked our return trip.
The Great Escape - But this is no film, this is reality...
If you want a truly relaxing hideaway, then this quaint, but very practical Shepherds Hut, is likely what you need. It's glamping in a place of peace and harmony and one with nature.
Set in it's very own magnificent field, with nothing but cooing pigeons and grasshoppers to keep you company, one can just sit back and chill in blissful peace.
Now this accommodation is by no means perfect. The tiny fridge holds very little and it is not able to keep things cold enough. Unless its a place just to stop your chocolate bar from melting, then that'll do. But I wouldn't expect your milk to stay fresh very long in there. The small cooker is slow. It does the job, just don't be in a hurry or cook anything overly complex. But let's face it, you will more likely go out to local eateries and just use the cooker for a fry up now and again.
The rest of the amenities are spot on. The bed is comfortable, there is a good deal of storage, a great table to eat at or use for games or a laptop, a place to hang clothes, a wood burner to keep warm, a great barbeque set up too, plus outside furniture and a sun lounger. And finally my favourite, the shower, what can I say, it is wonderful and the water pressure superb.
This is a fab place to stay. We found it so relaxing and a great base to explore the wonders of Oxfordshire. As well as some nice walks right on the doorstep, literally. Just turn right onto the bridlepath and you'll see what I mean. This truly is 'The Great Escape'...
Loved our stay here, we BBQ'd everyday and enjoyed sitting and watching the birds and wildlife. The hut itself is beautiful and has everything you need (although the mattress was a little firm and thin!)
Can't recommend this place enough and the hosts were really lovely and helpful.
