This was our annual family trip to Colorado Springs and this property is by far the best one yet! From the amazingly beautiful breathtaking views to all the comforts of the home including the beds, the hot tub, heated floors, and even a bidet in the master bathroom was a plus. The host, Rose, is very sweet and very responsive. She was available 24/7 for any questions we had about the property. We highly recommend this home and host. We canât wait to visit again! Thank you for the unforgettable memories!
Best parts of the home are the Views, next to open space for walking/hiking, and the open concept floor plan. The living room & kitchen is very open; plenty space for a large family to gather and hang. We enjoyed the Beautiful views & expansive deck. Very cool, unique place. Drawbacks- the tv didnât work (lost remote control). No home manual on how to operate the iPad home control center, shades. fireplace, etc. Plenty of beds for sleeping but some rooms felt small & cramped. The bunkbed space looks a closet. Parking is minimal/tight. 5 star review for the views, open floor plan for a large family/group in living room, kitchen & deck. Unique property.
We loved the house. It is in a convenient location and had everything we needed and beautiful views. The kitchen had everything pan or utensil we could need to cook our meals. There are plenty of nice towels and pillows and blankets. The hot tub was perfect. (I bring my own test strips.) Parking is very tight. Also there is a one lane road going up to the house and when anyone is parked along it your vehicle gets scratched up by brush on the other side. We found it easier to use the road just to the east which is more accessible. The only improvement I could suggest is to sand down the countertops and sides of the wood beams that make up the bed bases. We splinters when wiping off the wood countertops on the island by the sink in the kitchen and when stepping too close to the wood bed base in the back bedroom. Just a couple of things to be aware of but definitely will not keep us from visiting again! This home is beautiful and well thought out. The artistic vision with which it was remodeled is incredible! The hosts are amazing and very good at communication. If they ever want to sell we are interested! We canât wait to return!
The house was amazing and perfect for our family trip. The kids loved seeing deer come right up to the porch and the trails behind the house were great for an early morning hike. Any questions we had were answered quickly. Loved our stay here!
The hosts were very welcoming and any communication with them was addressed pretty quickly. The spaces were all great from the great room to the bedrooms to both decks, and the views were wonderful. The host had decorated for the holidays, which was very appreciated. On the downside of things, for all the detailed instructions provided regarding both check in and check out, I was surprised to find none in the house regarding operations of things. It would've made for a smoother first couple of days. Make sure to check out the zoo! It was a gem!
Incredible house in the canyon!! Beautifully built and designed, the beds are comfortable, rooms are cozy, kitchen has everything you need. The photos of the views donât do it justice! The hosts are very responsive and helpful and flexible. Book this stay if youâre looking in the area. Itâs perfect!
We stayed at the home while having a wedding for our daughter at the Pinery on the Hill (15 minute easy drive from the house). The open kitchen / dining room / kitchen area was great for my family to have meals together with the fantastic views of the foothills and open space around the property. Was great for morning coffee before heading out for some wedding events. Only had a couple minor glitches while staying there. The deck fire pit was non-functional, and the soaking tub in the master had the drain components disassembled. Also found some of the outlets in the kitchen did not work as well. Communicated the fire pit issue to the property manager / owner, but they were unable to fix while we were there. None of these issues though really impacted our enjoyment of our stay. My family loved the views, the deck, the hot tub, the speaker/tablet setup in the family room, the espresso machine, and commented on the good comfort of the beds. There are only 4 tight places to park cars at the home, and no parking on streets around the property as it is a tight neighborhood. It was not an issue for my family as we had 4 cars only. Also, for the bedrooms, there was one room of 2 bunk beds attached/Walk through to another bedroom. And one bedroom is a loft area in the home's center, open to the bedroom hallways. Hope that review helps you make a decision. We enjoyed our stay and would go there again if the opportunity came up.
Everything about this home was spectacularâŠand the service and communication before, during and after the stay was top notch. Will stay again the next time in Colorado Springs.
BEEEUTIFUL, SUPER COMFORTABLE HOUSE W/SPECTACULAR VIEWS!
We were a group of 7 adults (multi-generational) and we all really had a good time at this house. The great room is very welcoming, the kitchen is clean and very well equipped, all the bedrooms were super comfortable, clean and welcoming....everything in the house had been carefully selected and was of good quality. The surprize feature was the wonderful upper patio which had plenty of lounging furniture and the most stupendous views! There are incredible, easy hikes around the house, and it's just minutes away from shopping. Would we return - yes we would!
Jo was amazing to work with, the property was clean, and the views from both of the balconies were beautiful...it was just what we were looking for and would recommend to others.
Our family stayed at the Canon Retreat over Labor Day weekend. Everyone loved the property. It is as good as advertised! When we return, we will definitely look to stay here again!
We were in town for our sonâs graduation from the Air Force Academy. This house was perfect for our family to gather from across the country. Everyone had their own private room and the great room allowed us to cook, eat, and socialize together before and after all of the events. The views are amazing! We took advantage and had a photographer come and take portraits with the mountains as a beautiful back drop. The grandfathers especially loved sitting on the deck to relax after a tiring day at altitude. We had some issues with animals getting into the trash the first couple of days but the management staff was helpful in cleaning it up and replaced the cans with locking ones which prevented this from happening again. We would definitely stay there again and recommend it highly.
We had the best mini reunion in the woods. This place has hiking steps outside and the most incredible views of the stars And mountains. We loved this place. Very easy to sleep the group of 10. Easy cooking in the huge kitchen. There is a bit of a windy road to get to the place and there are close by neighbors. The most incredible house on the side of a hill. Thanks for the amazing stay!
Our favorite part of this stay was to just sit in the main room and watch the landscape change throughout the day. Also, there was great hiking from the house.
The house was everything we wanted and more for our Florida group. The mountain views from the great room are spectacular! Everyone loved hiking right from the back of the house, the second story deck was a favorite for getting some sun during the day and stargazing at night. The great room allowed us all to be together while some cooked, some watched TV and others gathered at the table to play card games in the evenings. We stayed over Christmas and were delighted to find a beautifully decorated tree when we arrived. The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of pillows and blankets to go around. This home was truly everything we wanted for our Christmas holiday.
The house is beautiful and the views are spectacular. The only Complaint that we had was the cleaning of the house. The refrigerator had not been cleaned from the last people and we had to wipe it down. We were picking up crayons and cereal off the den floor when we arrived. I would stay here again but the cleaning team needs to do a better job
We stayed here while I attended a conference at a local hotel. This home is as beautiful as the pictures! I really appreciated the body wash, shampoo, conditioner and hand lotion that all bathrooms were stocked with. We also appreciated the coffee.
We loved the rooftop deck. The heated floors were great for the chilly mornings. Kitchen was well stocked with spices. Would highly recommend this property to anyone interested. If we come back here would stay again.
Everything about this home is beautiful, comfortable, scenic and convenient to all our destinations. We absolutely loved it, plenty of rooms and comfortable beds, gorgeous views and quiet!
We rented this home for a family vacation (6 adults, 7 kids). The pictures on the site were so enticing we had to book it. Upon arrival, everything appeared just as it did on VRBO. The setup of the home was perfect for our combination of adults and kids. The views were spectacular, both porches were outstanding, and the house had plentiful supplies for cooking, bathing, sleep, and games. While the property appears remote, it is 10-15 minutes from downtown Colorado Springs, so we had a great combination of nature plus the convenience of a small city close by. There are many attractions close by that we were able to do such as the Cheyenne Zoo (get there early), 7 Falls Park (the gate is only a one mile hike from the house), Garden of the Gods, and a tour up Pikeâs Peak (we used Manitou Springs Adventures, they were amazing) among other things. We were there in the summer and the house can get quite hot, but they had very good instructions how to use the skylight and window screens to keep cool, especially at night. Check in and check out were very easy. The owners and managers were helpful and quick to respond to questions. If you like nature, this is a fantastic spot. There is a trail right outside the back of the house. We saw lots of deer grazing outside the house, and a curious bear and raccoon both walked across the porch to see what was going on. I would highly recommend this property if you are visiting Colorado Springs. We could not have asked for a better time staying here and will definitely book again if we are visiting the area in the future. What a wonderful experience!
