We visited Cozumel to dive and snorkel and were pleased that we choose to stay at Casa del Mar. The staff are lovely - they really go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The hotel, while older, is a neat design and while the building could certainly benefit from a larger maintenance budget, it is by no means neglected. The room was spotless. Potable water and ice are provided in the lobby of each floor. Pool towels are available. And staff will do their best to accommodate any request. This is a spot popular with divers, and with good reason - ease of access to the water and pier are excellent (and the bridge - a source of some poor review comments- looked freshly renovated when we were there). I can see why many reviews say it only makes sense to stay here if you dive - there are clearly more modern and luxurious options elsewhere for those who don't dive and won't appreciate the many benefit Casa del Mar has for divers. We loved the pool and hot tub - guests really mingle at the hot tub and we made many good acquaintances over drinks in the hot tub at the end of our dive. The restaurant is such a cool building, and service is outstanding, but unfortunately, the food was poor enough that ate elsewhere unless we just didn't have time to go out.

This is my Mexican home away from home. I have always loved this property, the rooms are always clean, the staff are exceptionally friendly. As long as this property is available when I travel, I will always stay there.. They make me feel like I am part of their family.

LOVE the pool area and HOT TUB and swim up bar… nice ocean view from pool and tub… good at restaurant was decent to combine with the 100’s of other restaurants in Coz…. The beach club connected to hotel was beautiful too… it’s just a 15 min (300 peso) can ride away… staff was very nice …Will b back 👍

The beds were comfortable and the room was clean. The bathroom was dated and sink was cracked but everything was in working order. Loved the friendliness of the restaurant staff and other employees on the property. Wifi was sketchy at best in the room but strong in the lobby area. The grounds were beautiful and well kept. Woke up to birds chirping every morning.

3rd stay here. Great, interesting location. We were assigned a room that needed update. Bathroom mirror and sink in poor condition. Electrical outlets almost unusable as items won't stay plugged in. Some switches don't work. Tv remote doesn't work. No mini fridge. Some of the wood closet door slats broken. Room.215 needs a refresh! Pluses; very clean (room was attended to daily) very quiet, plenty of hot water & great water pressure, excellent mattresses, cold & quiet a/c. Friendly staff. Shared beach club really not a deal or perk any longer at a $5 discount off $45 day pass rate. Drinks are always very very weak at main hotel pool swim up bar. Pool always clean though. This is a good place but could use a refresh of some areas. Just be sure you get an updated room.. Grounds & gardens very nice and well maintained.

Our group had two rooms- the garden cabana and a “deluxe ocean view”. We specifically booked a room with a kitchenette because one of our party members has severe food allergies only to find that the kitchenette had absolutely no cooking utensils and as such was not usable. That felt like false advertising. I tried to contact the hotel for months to modify our reservation (within the confines of their policy), but I didn’t hear back from them. When I tried to discuss the issue upon arrival, the staff was extremely rude. They made me wait in the lobby for 90 minutes only to inform me that the sum taffy I needed to speak with actually wasn’t there. One of the beds in the cabana really wasn’t a bed. That is mentioned on their description, but I didn’t expect it to be so uncomfortable. Sometimes there was hot water, often there was not. The beds in our “deluxe ocean view” rooms were hanging off the platform by about ten inches (photo) so it was very easy to accidentally roll off. Lastly, the restaurant tried to shortchange us by $10. It felt very intentional. To get into San Miguel, it was a ten dollar cab each way. I would never go back to this place; I’m surprised it has decent reviews. It felt like a complete waste of money…

The staff was delightful and the food and beverage options were not ridiculously priced. The snorkeling across the road and at Roberta's Dive Shack was lovely if not extensive. The only downside was that the 'free' Nachi Como Beach Club access was a $20± cab ride away, $40+ round-trip, and only open from 12:30pm to 4pm most of the time we were there.

The staff was good very accommodating in some ways. We were disappointed with the room it was dirty in appearance and feeling. I was told it was the standard room because we booked through Expedia. The bed in linens were terrible looking and smelled. I advise the desk staff of the issues with the bed linens it was to be addressed the only thing that was done the lines were sprayed and turned around the tattered ends at the top of bed were now at the foot of the bed. We had no TV the first night. I scheduled a family activity through the concierge on 12/28 for pick up at 12:30pm and was told the activity rep would arrive the hotel at 12pm to be paid and did not show until 12:10pm. I paid. After i paid the rep the pick up departed with out us at 12:15pm. Leaving us with no familtly activity for the day. It was just a situation with property and poor communication and follow through.
