About the destination.
Marios and Patriciaâs house is located in Daylesford, Victoria, Australia. Perfectly secluded, it is the last house on a very private road and is within easy access to the main street of Daylesford (3 min drive or 30 min hearty walk) where you will find amazing restaurants, cafes, art galleries, pubs and more. The house is located on the edge of the Wombat State Forest providing direct access to walking tracks, leading to nearby attractions such as Tipperary Springs, Picnic Grounds, Twin Bridge. The Mill Market (second hand clothes, furniture, bric-a-brac) and Boomerang Ranch (horse riding) are just around the corner. As the house is literally surrounded by forest, Kangaroos regularly visit the property. Daylesford is about a 1.5 hour drive from Melbourne. If you don't have a car, you can still easily reach Daylesford by train (V-Line). The town is known for many award winning restaurants, cafes, wineries and bakeries. There are farmerâs markets where you can buy excellent local produce, and if you are driving or touring the area you will be able to visit wineries and farms that sell their own products direct. The area is also known for its many lovely walks and hiking tracks suitable for a wide range of ages and fitness levels. Lake Daylesford in just a few minutesâ walk south of the town centre, as is Wombat Hill Botanical Garden which offers lovely views of the surrounding countryside. Jubilee Lake â near town, is a scenic spot ideal for fishing, boating and swimming.
Transportation tips.
The best way to get to our house is by car. The local taxi service is excellent. If you prefer to head into town on foot, it will be hearty 30 min walk via bush. There is off street parking available at the property.

Love the location of house, so peaceful after being in the city all the time. This was our 3rd time in this house and enjoyed it all over again...considering the last time we came was Jan 2020 right before covid kicked in. Thank you
Overall the property was fine - bedding, heating, bathroom, lounge areas all satisfactory. A couple of items require a refresh / tidy up. For example, the table/ chairs on the front verandah were quite rusty and needed cleaning; the back garden was overgrown and the foliage, lawn needed clipping and some parts of the perimeter fence were patchy. First impressions of the property on arrival were that it needed a spruce up and better all round presentation.
Beautiful, peaceful location at the end of the road on the edge of the state forest; two lounge areas comfortable and spacious and kitchen has plenty of cooking requirements. Loved our stay :)
Quiet location at the end of the road, overlooking a bush valley. Lovely bush walks from the house. Daylesford town centre is only a 5 minute drive away and so while being out of the town centre, the house is central to the many attractions this area has to offer. The weather was cold, wet and windy during our stay but the house was warm and very comfortable. A great getaway.
Great place overall just had issue with checking in and the lock box..had a bit of trouble getting in touch with owner to resolve issue.Once in touch with owner and manager they were more than helpful and went over and above to help us. Many thanks for that!
Myself and 4 other mum friends stayed her for 2 nights. Was cosy, and peaceful. Played games and enjoyed the scenery. Friendly magpie thats into being friends. Nespresso machine was fab too! Would definitely book again!
We arrived after dark with a front door access code sent by Stayz by email which didn't work. It turned out that there was a different code that the host had tried to send to us via Stays messaging (which I didn't use, because everything I needed was on the Stayz email....big mistake. The host was responsive via the app messaging to help fix things. When we got inside, we were faced with the problem of their only being 2 bedrooms available instead of three. The original Stayz quote detailed all three bedrooms for the price I paid. When we contacted the host on this, we were told that there are separate conditions which limit the available rooms according to the number of occupants. He said that Stayz presentation of this information is not great. The end result was that our son spent the night on a reasonably comfy couch in the spare living room. The house only had towels for three persons. We were provided with access to a fourth towel the following morning. The only other thing is that the hot water in the shower was pretty well so low in pressure that you couldn't wash shampoo out of your hair. A number of use didn't risk it; the others had bad hair days!
Great place, beautiful setting, with the edge of the bush around you itâs very quiet. The kitchen was well equipped with enough crockery and cutlery for family of five. BBQ was easy to use, and ample seating and dining space.Great for Easter Sunday lunch.Bedrooms roomy, bathroom was clean, extra toilet seperate to bathroom came in handy with five adults staying. Just need a bit more water pressure in the shower, otherwise very comfortable holiday home for 5 night stay.
Loved being so close to forrest. Problem with that is debris in gutters, on veranda etc which is concerning when a fire was burning in the district. Water pressure in the shower could be better but not problem enough to stop showering unless you had kiddies. Then not being able to add cold water to the hot could be a problem.
Serenity was in a beautiful bush setting with easy access to walks in forests and along creek and also a good walk into Daylesford centre. The house was very comfortable- good beds, comfy sofas, good dining area and kitchen well equipped including a great large fridge. Bathroom clean and functional but old style and limited sink space for a larger group. Great warmth from the fireplace and split systems but gas space heater wasnât working. Would recommend
Initially we had trouble gaining access as the wrong code was supplied. However the host was responsive and good communication and rectified problem. We got in within an hour. The host was responsive, location, and the property is aptly named.
However, the floors had not been washed. They were extremely dirty filthy. I was taken back. I had to sweep them twice and clean. If i could upload the photos i would. I did contact the host after but he said we should have contacted him earlier so our stay could have been better. But we only had a few days and it was our time away and it was supposed to be cleaned before arriving. We paid for cleaning? We left the place alot better. I even swept the deck for the next people as well.. I had tried a number of times to reach out and send our photos. He was only interested so he could tell the cleaners for the next people not offering anything to us. I have kept photos.
Such a tranquil location with bushland surroundings from the front porch. Perfect to relax outside on a warm day & on the cold night we sat in the back lounge room on comfortable couches with the fire going. I have rated everything 5 starâŠmy only suggestion is to turn the hot water temperature up as the shower lacked any pressure. Also only a small thing but there were a lot of scented diffusers in the houseâŠI think we counted 9 in total.đ As a hayfever sufferer we relocated them under the porch outside for the stay. To be honest the house didnât need them as it was super clean & definitely not stinky. Thanks for the stay we absolutely loved our relaxing getaway.
Very lovely home with all the modern comfort and technology for our family of 4. Enjoyed the two lounge spaces to watch different movies on Netflix. The owner was easy to converse with and was great to go on a long walk in to the surrounding area and see the springs. Beds were comfortable and thoroughly enjoyed the ambience of the house.
