We love staying on the first floor because of the easy access to the beach/elevator and parking garage. We absolutely loved this unit and the entire property!! We will definitely be booking this place again for our next stay!

I feel the property was very well maintained. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The only negatives Iâd say is, my mom and I stayed in St. Maarten, and rest of my family were in St. Croix. We werenât able to enter their building unless they came down to let us in. So, next time we will be sure to stay in same building. But, we did appreciate the security of the complex, and felt safe having children with us.
2nd negative was, our fobs sometimes didnât open gate to out to beach, but property office was helpful in giving us another.
We loved beach chair service, and waitresses on beach, and guy who came along and ask if we had trash to be picked up, and especially the air pumps to inflate our toys. This kept beach looking clean, and made our experience top notch!!!
The location of this unit is right off the lobby and right off the elevator from the basement parking space. The bed was super comfortable, the kitchen was compact but with what appeared to be a brand new full size refrigerator, stove/oven and dishwasher. The bath has a large walk in shower and there's a full walk in closet with tons of space. The pictures on the website are exactly what you get. Although a bit dated for my taste, it was spotless and all the furniture and knick knacks seemed brand new.
I got a bit lost in the parking lot and a staff person very quickly noticed my confusion and helped guide me to my spot. I ran into her again later and again, she was SO nice!
My favorite thing and the reason I will return, is the view. When you walk into the unit there is a wall of glass at least 12 - 14 feet high. It's covered in the easily movable curtains and when opened it is a spectacular view onto the deck out to the beach. I had family staying at the unit on the other side of the lobby so it was perfect!
Honestly, I can be kind of a snot about this sort of thing but I was impressed from start to finish. Great space, great location, great amenities and superb staff support!
We were scheduled to be on this trip just as hurricane Irma was moving up the coast. I called Compass Resorts and inquired about a refund or can we just reschedule for another time. Apparently buried deep in the contract is an opportunity to purchase travel insurance. Without it there are no refunds or even the opportunity to rebook for another time even in the event of a category 5 hurricane. We attempted to drive but got halfway and were too nervous that we would not get back if we were unable to get gas. I would not recommend this rental property.
The best thing about this unit is the location. Location is awesome, walk out your back door and down to the beach. Unit is very tired looking and bathroom is pretty disgusting. Shower was growing some serious mold. Definitely not worth the price we paid for it.
Nice property, not-so-nice booking company representatives
St. Maarten 205 is a lovely choice for a couple who appreciates the close location to the pool and to the beach. However, if you stay longer than a few days, you might miss the amenity of a washer and dryer within the unit. Overall, the property--including the beach-- is safe and clean. The resort personnel are also accommodating. However, we had a short, unpleasant encounter with a large cockroach (aka "palmetto bug") in our kitchen but the part that was most disturbing was the lack of response I received from the Compass Resort representative when I called her to let her know about our buggy intruder. Not only was she unsupportive of our discovering a four-inch critter in our kitchen, but when I told her I just wanted to notify her about a possible infestation, she became dismissive and said it wasn't a cockroach but a "palmetto bug." After Googling "palmetto bug," I discovered her response was a slight version of alternative facts. But that did not bug me (pun intended) as much as the rude treatment from the Compass Representative. This was not the only time I was unimpressed with the less-than-welcoming attitude demonstrated by Compass employees, whether I spoke to them on the phone before arriving or when we were checking in.
To be fair, after making a few calls before our stay to Compass, they let us check in early, which was appreciated since we had driven 15 hours to Destin. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay at the St. Maarten, but my few encounters wirh the Compass Resorts representatives force me to rate our stay three stars rather than four or five.
My husband and I enjoyed our mini getaway to Destin. St. Maarten 205 Studio was perfect! Just enough room for the two of us, great amenities and the bed was very comfortable! We have stayed at Silver Shells before with our family in the larger condos and just wanted a smaller space for the two of us...this studio was perfect! We loved the lobby level and being able to walk right out onto the patio. The parking space was a perfect location, too! Check-in/check-out was easy. We will definitely stay with Compass Resorts, again!
