Seabreeze Cottage, by the ocean in Brighton, Otago

Enjoy sea-views from the living-room or be walking on the sand in 1 minute. The deck at the rear is sunny and rural with a sheltered BBQ area. Fully renovated, in keeping with it's Art Deco architecture, the gas-fire warms the living-room. The kitchen is fully equipped, the beds are comfortable (king in master/twin singles in 2nd bedroom) and OSP for 4 cars. It's a 7 minute walk to the swimming beach, cafe and dairy. Take the 16kms to Taieri Mouth for coastal scenery, fishing, walks and picnics.

This place was quaint, calm, and perfectly suited to what we were looking for. It got cooler one evening and we simply cozied up around the gas fireplace. The home had everything listed, including the barbecue, that we used, and ate outdoors on the patio. The host, Janet, communicated extremely well, and answered any inquiries we had. An excellent experience all around. Proximity to Dunedin and the Otago Peninsula made it perfect.

A Wonderful Stay in a Truly Special Place

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at this charming home—it was everything it promised to be and more. The house was warm, cozy, and fully equipped with all the amenities we needed for a comfortable visit.While we were initially surprised that the bathroom was located just off the main cottage, through a breezeway, it was well-heated and thoughtfully set up, so it didn’t pose any inconvenience at all. I'm sure it was already noted and just a reader error on our part. Janet was a truly exceptional host—kind, thoughtful, and incredibly responsive. She went out of her way to make sure we arrived to a warm, well-lit home and even left a few treats for us to enjoy in the morning. Those small touches made such a big difference.The location itself is simply stunning—beautiful and uniquely peaceful, with the beach just out front and sheep grazing in the back. A perfect blend of nature and comfort.All in all, a wonderful stay. We’d love to come back!

Perfect break from a busy life

Spotlessly clean bach across the road (moderately busy in case traffic noise worries you) from a beautiful empty sandy beach. Just 20 mins drive from Dunedin.

Away from the city

The house has plenty of character and charm, I enjoyed my stay, I wish I could have stayed longer. It had everything I needed. It is away from the city, with a nice kept fenced yard. You can hear and see the ocean out the front (across the road) and the sheep grazing on the hill in the back.

Bach in Brighton Beach

I loved this cosy bach only 20 mins from central Dunedin. Hearing the ocean as you drift off to sleep is so peaceful. Everything I needed was provided, and breakfast was a nice touch. Thank you! I would absolutely recommend this bach.

Warm and cosy cottage

Great little place, directly across from the beach with an amazing view. Enough room to comfortably fit 3 adults for 2 weeks and not feel like we were on top of each other. Plenty of space for family who live locally to come visit, the board games and toys were a fun addition. Kitchen well stocked for cooking (plus a very generous starter kit for breakfast). Linen and bedding all great. And we were so warm, even when the weather got pretty wild outside!
