Entryway and hallway are off putting: Very dirty and poorly maintained. The appartement itself, however, is quite clean and well kept. Certain kitchen items were missing (bottle opener, dishlinens), which caused minor inconveniences. The clothes washer was greatly appreciated and two large drying racks are provided. Lots of space.
The location is excellent: in the center of the town and within walking distance of many shops, cafes and restaurants.
There is a pub next door and the noise can be quite loud certain evenings. As the bedroom is on the side of the street and the exterior walls are not soundproofed, we were wakened at 2 am by drunken patrons who carried on for quite a while. You can also hear the pigeons on the roof quite clearly. They start their racket at 5am. Light sleepers should absolutely abstain from this property.
There is no WIFI which is quite inconvenient and, in our opinion, should be included, considering the price. Also, the free parking is a good 7-8 minute walk from the property. We found free parking on the street closer than where the owner recommended we leave the car.
Overall, it is not a bad rental. However the problems we experienced were such that we consider it a poor value for the money and would not return here on future trips to the area. We had access to much better rentals, at better rates, in other places during our trip through Scotland.
