Never again. Furniture was very uncomfortable. Many items in the house were in need of repair or replacing. Gas grill didnt work. At first thought propane tank was empty. Changed tank and grill still didnt work. Dishwasher was broken. Found out after loading and running. Went to put dishes away the next morning and they were still dirty. Contacted people and was told oh yeah sorry about that it broke a couple weeks ago. End table by couch was very wobbly. Light in pantry didnt work. Exposed wires on light in kitchen over the sink. Front porch hadnt been swept in a while. Spider webs on stair rails and spiders. No live tv. Only streaming but you have to sign into your personal streaming apps. Very minimal cooking/kitchen accessories. No pot holders. No dish drain to stop water to do dishes. No drying rack to place dishes on once washed. Floors were at an angle. Felt like you were walking uphill and at and angle. I did read reviews after coning home and noticed owners stated bought property in 2019 and they are aware cabin needs repairs, and are making in between bookings. Bedroom door doesnt close due to extra thick rug. Moving rug is not sn option as its a large rug. Personally think they need to do waaaaayyyyy better.
The location is fantastic, right on the river with the water flowing over some rocks. You get the great burbling sound of the water, very relaxing. This time of year there were very few other cabins with people so it was very quiet and peaceful
Our main criteria was to stay at a pet friendly home on a creek or river that you can hear the water from the home, and we needed a grill and fire pit. This home fit the criteria perfectly. The host was very receptive to our inquiries and requests. The beds were comfortable and furnishings were nice. As the description says, the home is in need of some work / upgrades, therefore we were not expecting perfection. There definitely is a need for some cosmetic repairs in spots, and maybe some appliance upgrades. But don't let this deter you. The home was cleaned well and it is in a quiet location. My wife is a little OCD when it comes to cleanliness and she was satisfied enough that she is already considering a revisit with some of her friends. (One note of caution that should be listed in the description is the steep drop-off at the edge of the property into the creek. I am not sure if the creek is unusually low right now due to the drought, but it is a far drop if a pet or toddler got to close to the edge. It appears that most properties nearby were the same way)
The cab8n was filthy. My wife and I had to clean for an hour. The house is in great disrepair. The owner stated they are repairing between bookings. That is not accurate-it is in worse shape than last year when we were here.
A trip for relaxation. Morning coffee on the deck listening to the river flowing over the rocks and boulders. Deciding what to do this day. Short trips to a couple of vineyards, orchards, hiking trails and a couple of Ellijay community events. Had a wonderful time. Also took the Blue Ridge train ride again (4th time).
This was a great place to stay. The location on the river was perfect. There were cascades straight out from cabin that made beautiful river sounds that could be heard from the screened in porch. We had deer come really close to the porch, looking for a handout, I think.Terry and Cathy
Super nice.love the rivers calming sound. Never seen so mane deer in my life. They seem to be use to people just sit their as you walk or drrive by. Very well stocked with utensils.
This place was perfect! Off the beaten path and very secluded. I do hope they continue the repairs and upkeep. The view is amazing. Deer every night! Very quiet.
My husband and I absolutely fell in love with this place. The river is perfect and having the screened in porch was great! We saw so many deer! It was magical! We will definitely be visiting again!!
It is a very quiet place, full of nature, very beautiful and the river in front of the cabin is a plus!!! the calm it gives is incredible!!! Unfortunately it is not the same with the cabin, I think it needs some repairs. But what needs to be acted on immediately is the mold around the cabin. All the access stairs are full of mold, you cannot grab them, the doors that lead to the back of the cabin, they also have mold, you can tell that they have not been cleaned for a long time and when you enter the cabin for the first time there is a musty smell too. I had to open the doors for a while and the smell for the next day it didn't feel so much anymore. I hope the owner repairs and updates the things that need to be fixed and changed, so that the cabin also becomes outstanding, since the place where the cabin is located already is.
Itâs unfortunate we couldnât stay longer than a few hours! What a superb get away! Would love to go back and actually spend days and nights rather than just a few night hours. Completely recommend
