The guest house is comfortable and nicely updated. It is a great location, about 20 minutes to Carlsbad beach and relatively close to all San Diego sights. We enjoyed lots of adventures, hiking, exploring, and beach days.Tip: this is a working ranch and very dog friendly. Please note that there are several dogs, and a cute little pig, that roam freely about the property. They are friendly, but be aware that your dog needs to be ok with that. It is a secluded location and when the dogs hear something, they may bark at night.

Beautiful property. Our living space was clean and nicely upgraded. The property is a mini-ranch that we were free to roam. The hosts were friendly and informative. Legoland and other places are not far. We couldn't have asked for a better stay. We will likely stay again.

Elfin Forest Delight

It was such a comfortable cabin and the owners are really nice accommodating people. Close enough to town but fun to hang out at property. The grounds were fun to walk around on and perfect for our dog. The animals are adorable and friendly. We will be going back. It was right up our alley!

The little guest house is spacious, with plenty of storage for clothing so you can unpack instead of living out of a suitcase. The kitchen has everything, including a Keurig. The bed and couch are very comfortable, and there is nearly instant hot water! Many windows give a lot of natural light, but foliage around the house provide privacy. There are horses, cats, dogs, a ram - very "country" - but 4 minutes down the road are Starbucks, a grocery store, etc. The hosts are wonderful - right there on site, and only a text away if you have any questions. It's a gem of a place. PS At night, you hear coyotes and owls - so special!

Beautiful Casitas

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the casitas! It was a very comfortable space with fine attention to details. Beautiful woodwork in the kitchen, which was well stocked with everything we could possibly need. For coffee lovers, they had a kurig, coffee pot & French press with an electric kettle. Property grounds were beautiful and the property was very secure. Can’t wait to go back!!!

Awesome casita

Willam and Holly are gracious hosts. Their casita was very comfortable and clean it has everything you could need. Perfect for 2 people. For our visit the location was perfect. Close to major shopping areas and entertainment. Loved their animals especially Snoop Dog❀if we are ever in that area again we will definitely be staying there again. Nancy and Pete

Very nice

Our stay was great. Our cottage had everything you could possibly want, including one adorable beagle (snoop). It was exactly as pictured The place was very quiet and just across the street was a walking trail that ran for miles into the hills. Bill and Holly were perfect hosts. A pretty little town was just 2 miles away with everything you need. Carlsbad was a 20 min. drive where you can catch the train to San Diego.

We had a lovely stay. It's a but of a haul, but we wanted privacy, so that was expected. Owner's home is right next door, we had hoped there would be more distance as our dogs bark, and we did not want to disturb anyone. Very responsive hosts. Nice property.

Wonderful property in country setting

We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful Casita. Spent 5 days 4 nights and enjoyed every minute of our stay - Property is on a small ranch that houses a number of rescue animals (Dogs, Horses, Ram, Cats) - highly recommend reaching out the owners for a tour. Well worth the hour we spent - great way to meet the animals and see their dream coming to life. Beautiful unit - well decorated, full kitchen with sufficient supplies to eat in (we cooked most meals), comfy bed (Queen memory foam), great walk-in closet, window AC in living room for the summers (we had cold temps so we used the gas stove which worked very well). It get's very dark and quiet which made for some very comfortable evenings. Owners were there if we needed anything but otherwise left us alone. There may be some activity on the property as they are doing some remodeling but didn't impact us at all. Property is 10 minutes from San Elijo with restaurants and grocery stores. Elfen Park has some great hiking. Highly recommend this property and would definitely return

Quiet Cottage Bliss

Lovely cottage became our home away from home. The hosts were great and we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Well appointed kitchen, comfortable bed, huge walk-in closet. We would definately stay again.

Perfect Country Cottage

Peaceful and extremely quiet. I could spend months there. My dog had free run of a fully fenced acreage and friendly dogs to run with. The cottage had every high end appliance you might want, including a washer/dryer combo. I would have liked to stay longer, but was needed at home. The hosts are available for any questions.

As advertised and very cozy

Spent 10 days here with my dog and my wife. We had a very pleasant experience with both William and Holly our hosts. Kitchen bath and bedroom all well stocked. If you enjoy dark skies and quiet, this is the place for you. Grocery store and a few restaurants very close by. Plenty of other restaurants nearby deliver via GrubHub. We will be back to enjoy this location again.

Property is located on a small ranch just outside more populated areas. Very quiet, owners live next door but rarely seen. Slight problem with the dishwasher was fixed immediately.

Definetely nice to have your own little cottage with cooking and clothes washer. Beautiful remote location close to everything. Cottage is well kept and made well. Owners are friendly, and will engage with you if you have questions, but otherwise leave you alone to enjoy the place.

Quiet Sanctuary

This place is gorgeous! Plenty of light, able to open windows for fresh air. About 15 minutes from Carlsbad and Vista. Elfin Forest has a beautiful community to walk around. Explored the animals on the property. Loved hearing the water fountain and frogs at night. Fast communication. Will definitely come back again when I visit San Diego- about 45 min, so worth it!
