Worth seeing towns with a very interesting history are among others L'Aquila, Teramo, Chieti, Castelli, Atessa, Atri, Avezzano, Bomba, Casalbordino, Cermignano, Fossacesia, Lanciano, Montedorisio, Ortona, Scanno, Sulmona, Vasto or Guardiagrele.
Here, however, extra travel time must be expected.

Other activities include hiking, horseback riding, cycling and mountain biking.

In winter you can stay directly at the skiing area Prati di Tivo.
