A large and modern apartment located in Via di Barbano a stone's throw from Piazza dell'Indipendenza, the Fortezza da Basso and the Central Station of Santa Maria Novella in Florence. The house has recently been completely renovated with great care and is very modern and functional. The spaces are considerable and the apartment is perfect to accommodate up to a maximum of 6 people for both short stays and longer periods.
The property consists of a living room with sofa and TV, table and chairs, a fully equipped kitchen with many appliances and a breakfast corner, 3 bedrooms plus a mezzanine with an additional single bedroom and two complete bathrooms with shower and bidet.
Independence House is an ideal apartment for a large family, students or a group visiting the city and is very well equipped with air conditioning, Wi-Fi, washing machine and dishwasher.
The location is fab. The apartment is clean. The AC is really good.We were unhappy though because we booked this place as part of a bigger trip and needed a washing machine at this part of the it.We asked several times whether there was a working washing machine and were assured that there was. Unfortunately the washing made the electrics trip out leading us to fumble around in the dark to put the electric back on. It also meant we couldn't leave a wash on and go out and enjoy the city as we never knew if the wash would finish. We reported it and were fobbed off with excuses about it being an old historic town and the power supply being affected due to that.
This place had everything to make our stay comfortable. The washer and dryer was a big help becuase we had a lot of dirty clothes and the last place we stayed didn't have a washer. The place was clean. We had plenty of towels and blankets. The location was 12 minutes from the train station which was really great for us. We really loved our stay here and wished we could have stayed longer.
My son in law woke up with mosquito bites everyday. We asked for mosquito vapes but no one came, we ended up buying our own. There was blood stains on the walls from dead mosquitoes. This place is in a pretty good location but not very clean. We did not use the kitchen, only one functioning plug. No coffee maker but there is a bar downstairs. Not ideal for people with disabilities as there is no elevator. We did not get clean bed sheets until 5 pm. The ones we had were full of stains and hair. Not a property I would recommend.
It was very hot even with the AC
No elevator so we had to carry all big luggages to the fourth floor, dont book if you have older companion
With a bad knees. The reception lady charged us additonal 20 Euros because we arrived at 8:04 Pm
But she let us wait 20 mins outside before she arrived
Not coming back here
We stayed at this apartment for 3 nights for a family vacation. The apartment easily accommodated our family of 6 adults. The unit was well equipped and the location was great. Our only complaint was that there was not a coffee maker/coffee pot that worked. We would definitely recommend this apartment for large groups traveling to Florence.
Overall a wonderful place to stay. It lacked some basics like pot holders, kitchen towels and dishwasher soap. When we asked about getting some this part of our question went unanswered.
Overall though, it is a good place for a big family to stay with lots of rooms and beds.
Pros: The apartment was very clean. It is close to the train station, museums, the Duomo, a grocery store, and other tourist sites. Coffee and morning treats are available next door. Location was important because we walked everywhere.
Cons: The coffee maker had not been cleaned and was growing things. The provided hair dryers would not fit the plugs in the bathroom. The towel warmers did not work and were actually dirty.
All things considered, I would stay there again.
There are a lot of stairs, but that was not a problem for us.
