Experience life as it was in 1898 living along a rail line. Our unique little home is situated in a popular small town just outside Indianapolis/Fishers....only about 8 miles to Ruoff Music Center. You have to like trains as our home is beside some heavily traveled rail lines. This is a absolute "must stay" location for rail fans. View all of the rolling stock as it passes by your window or relax in the private rear yard at the fire-pit and enjoy the view. Fortville is filled with destination eateries and shops, all just steps away.
The 1898 Rail Road House is only a block away from Main St in Fortville where you’ll find cute shops and wonderful restaurants. Great walkable neighborhood. Only about 8 miles to Ruoff Music Center. Large driveway with room 4-6 cars. See Insta profile for virtual tour - @Fortvillerrhouse.
Please note: Our house, built in 1898 has a very steep staircase to bedrooms 2 and 3. If you aren’t able to hold onto handrail going up and down the stairs, this house may not be for you.. 2nd floor is not recommended for toddlers.

Great Place
Fantastic railroad theming! The house is nestled in a small town within driving distance of everything. Very clean with plenty of trains to watch from both upstairs and downstairs.

Great Stay at 1898!
I needed a last minute stay, and found this beauty here! The house was extremely nice, we loved the decoration and set up. The property manager was super nice and even welcomed us with a greeting on a chalk board upon walking through the door. That was one of our favorite parts about the stay! Highly recommend for families or group stays, we had more then enough space.

Went to see Disturbed in Noblesville, IN. Stayed at this clean cute little place in Fortville. Please be aware it’s right next to the railroad tracks. Didn’t bother us when the trains rolled through but may not be for everyone. Thanks for a great stay!

Short Quick Stay
Gary our host was very helpful and accommodating, he was very responsive to any questions we had. My husband and I were visiting with our 3 adult children for Xmas/New Years to open presents, play games and be with one another. Everyone loved the house thought it was very nicely decorated and very clean but most of all the trains were fun to watch go by, loud but that was kind of the fun of it all, it was exciting to see a train come through right after the new year turned. Gary Thank you for being an amazing host.

This old train depot is a great place to stay if you plan to be in the Fortville area. Great proximity to downtown restaurants and very clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay again if needs be.
