Located at the base of the Cullasaja River Gorge, 5 miles from Franklin, the Rivers Edge Cabin offers easy water access. 10 miles from Highlands, NC. Relax on the open deck to the sound of rushing mountain water or... better yet... jump in! The kitchen is open with a dining table and a bar area. It is outfitted with cookware, utensils, dishes, a coffee maker, a toaster, and more. The cabin is fully stocked with linens, bedding, towels, & blankets. The deck area has plenty of space to enjoy the outdoors, gas grill cooking, or just relax by the water. The cabin has Wi-Fi and XM radio. The living area is equipped with a flat-screen TV (with Netflix and other streaming channels you can log into) and a DVD player with an assortment of movies. There are also two enclosed porch areas that are perfect for rainy days. Plus tubes, kayaks, and a fire pit! Experience the beauty of 3 waterfalls..... Great location on the Cullasaja River. I imagine it would be ideal in the summer for kayaking, tubing, and swimming. The water was a little too cold for that in April. We had a relaxing time between a little fishing, checking out the waterfalls, and visiting nearby towns.

Loved being right on the water. It was a short drive to waterfalls and the highlands downtown. We loved the visiting the dry falls which was only about 10 min drive from the property. Additionally, it was nice to just hang at the house, play in the water and grill out dinner. We plan on returning soon!

Great stay!

Everything was perfect, including the new mirror, with one exception. I was in town visiting aged parent so Wi-Fi was important for my downtime. Unfortunately it was very frustrating because I had to reboot the modem a minimum of 5 times a day and on one occasion as many as 15 times. If you don’t need Wi-Fi it’s a great place to stay. Very clean and kitchen had all the necessary items for cooking.

It is a beautiful, very clean older place. It was easy to find. The only drawback was the neighbor with the red SUV. On our first morning there, she banged on the door actually scaring us. We had parked in the gravel in front of our cottage. She informed us with balled up fists on her hips that we had to move our vehicle. Later, we drove how she could have gone around us. We were not blocking her in.

My kids had a blast playing on the river all day!! We only stayed for 3 nights, but I'll definitely come back for longer next time!! I did check out early on a Sunday, so I brought the trash to the recycling center Saturday before they closed, a slight inconvenience, but I would'nt ding them for that.
