The Little Barn, Ringstead, Norfolk
A fabulous award-winning bijou barn conversion in a quiet location within the pretty village of Ringstead. Just two miles from the beach and an easy ten minute walk to a popular gastro pub, The Little Barn is a lovely romantic hideaway for two but just as perfect for a family or friends.
Converted in 2015, The Little Barn is small but perfectly formed. With great attention to detail and making very clever use of limited space, the barn has been fitted out with quality fixtures and fittings and is surprisingly well-equipped with almost everything you might need for a short or longer stay in this beautiful area of North West Norfolk. Walk in the front door and you will be impressed by the striking open-plan vaulted living area - a light and airy space that's open to the mezzanine above. Somehow it manages to feel cosy too. The Little Barn has two bedrooms. On the ground floor is the master bedroom with doors leading out to the south facing courtyard garden and an en-suite bathroom with both a bath and separate shower cubicle. Upstairs, a galley style children's bedroom has four full-size cabin beds. Although there is just the one en-suite bathroom, there is a separate cloakroom on the ground floor.
A couple will enjoy the luxury of having The Little Barn all to themselves, with space to spare. A family or friends who are happy to muck in and share bathroom facilities will love it just as much. Due to the limited space, the barn is not suitable, or available, for more than four adults.
Ringstead is a friendly village with good local amenities, and offers easy access to both coastal and rural Norfolk along with wonderful walking, cycling and birdwatching opportunities.
The Little Barn is also available to book as a sleeps two option, with the first floor bedroom closed off, listed as The Little Barn (2).
Additional Information: One well-behaved dog welcome (small additional charge). The duvets and pillows are feather free.
Property smaller than we thought and would have been difficult for more than 2 adults.Bed we found not very comfortable. No toilet cleaning cloths or products.
No welcoming basket except for a bottle of water and some biscuits so make sure you arrive with basics. Location is great for exploring the area.
The barn was very nicely converted. We couldnât get the water in the shower to run hot enough. The bed was extremely uncomfortable with a poor quality mattress. Neither of us slept well for the 3 nights we were there.
It was not cleaned to a very good standard either. Kitchen counters had old food in the corners. Although there were 6 beds it would have been very cramped. Very nice private garden. We run a lodge in London. I donât expect people to have to go out immediately and buy washing up liquid. Itâs a nice touch to have enough for your stay and cheap enough to purchase. The oven was filthy with spilt food burnt on. Not nice to use. There are easy cleaning fluids today to make ovens clean.
Perfectly located for walkers, cyclists and bird watchers
As a couple we were quite comfortable using only the ground floor double room with en suite, but if the 4 single beds upstairs were occupied, even by children, the downstairs accommodation would be very cramped, and all occupants would be sharing the en-suite. In fairness the description of the accommodation implies this, so it is up to people to think about the space constraints.
We loved the location; it suited us perfectly. The only (constructive) criticism we would make is that the two-seater sofa was rather uncomfortable so prolonged reading or TV watching would not have been enjoyable. Fortunately we had good weather!
