It is the perfect place for a family getaway, celebration, honeymoon, anniversary, family reunion, corporate team event and small group retreat. Candice Cove is one of the Historic homes on American Beach Oceanfront. American Beach is a historic HOA beach community located north of Jacksonville, Florida on Amelia Island in Nassau County. During the time of segregation and the Jim Crow era, African Americans were not allowed to swim at most of beaches in Jacksonville, and several black-only areas were created. American Beach was the largest and most popular, and was a community established by Abraham Lincoln Lewis, Florida’s first black millionaire and president of the Afro-American Life Insurance Company.

American Beach was founded in 1935 by Florida’s first black millionaire, Abraham Lincoln Lewis, and his Afro-American Life Insurance Company. The plan was for his employees to have a place to vacation and own homes for their families by the shore. Throughout the 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s, summers at American Beach were busy with families, churches and children. It was a place where African Americans could enjoy “Recreation and Relaxation Without Humiliation”. The beach included hotels, restaurants, and nightclubs as well as homes and other businesses.

This house is exactly what we imagine a beach house to be. The location and beach were perfect, not crowded. This was our first trip to Amelia Island and American Beach and may not be our last.

We absolutely love this place—it's our little slice of paradise! We've stayed here multiple times, and each visit has been just as wonderful as the last. Anthony was great to work with. The house was clean and was very close to the beach. The down stairs is a great space for gathering but the back porch was my favorite spot because of the constant breeze.

We were unfortunate to be there during an approaching hurricane Had three wonderful days at the beach a short walk across the dunes the owner was very accommodating Thus was our third stay and we plan on coming back soon

Perfect home for family. The outdoor space is wonderful especially for little ones. Location- about 50 steps to the beach! Located close to anything you need but feels secluded.Home has everything you need for a great trip.It is easy to be a host when everything is going well, we experienced a power outage due to weather and Anthony responsiveness was wonderful. Made sure we new where emergency lanterns were etc and kept us updated with Neil power restored.
