The check in girl was our only contact with staff and she was very smiley, welcoming and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable, as was the bathroom. We have dropped a star as our booking, through Expedia, showed a stove top to be available, but unfortunately, only a microwave was in the studio! I had bought fresh produce, in order to cook a meal, and had to be very innovative to create our evening meal, in the microwave!! Not sure where the fault lies, Expedia, or the Motor Inn? As we only had one night, we did not take it up with the property. Good location, allocated parking space, and perfect for a short stay.

I had a cabin for ‘a family of five’ - two double rooms and a well-equipped lounge room and kitchenette with a small back deck looking onto the mountains - everything was absolutely spotless, the staff were so friendly, and the owner even dropped me and my luggage at the railway station upon my departure! The only minor issues were the lack of screen doors or windows (with a lot of blowflies around), and the beds are pretty soft. If you like that kind of thing. The cabins were like older but renovated rooms with new carpet, paint, shower and kitchenette; fully equipped kitchen, medium fridge, microwave, flatscreen TV; dining table with four chairs, three-seater sofa and a couple of lounge chairs. Both bedrooms have built-ins and bedside table, the smaller with Mountain views, the larger facing the front (parking area) with blackout curtains. I will definitely be staying here again next time I’m in Kaikoura!

check in was ok, but when we got to our room we found there was no toilet paper no tea & coffee, our room was not serviced during our 3 night stay. our unit was very close to the main road which made it very noisy traffic wise. Carpets could do with a clean, we found rice crackers under our bed This is an older style motel which needs some TLC.

We stayed for one night, with my Mother and my two kids aged 2 and 5. The owners have acquired the business over the last month or so and are making genuine efforts to upgrade the facilities and do best by their customers. Super friendly staff. Spotlessly clean with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Fit out is basic but they are upgrading it currently and I imagine that the next time we stay, it will be even better. Thanks for an enjoyable little getaway. We will see you next time!

Great place to stay with clean tidy facilities. Even though a little traffic noise we had a great night's sleep. Supermarket and petrol stations near by. Highly recommend.

An older style unit that was adequate for our 1 night stay..On the main road in, away from the town centre. The bed was comfy, the unit was clean with cooking facilities. A large grass area saw children playing
