Designed by renowned architect Alexander Michael, Sky Ridge is an off-grid masterpiece that leaves a small impact on the environment, yet a huge impact on those who stay! The robust black barn is set on 10 acres with stunning views of Kangaroo Valley and its escarpments. It is constructed of steel, glass and polished concrete with an industrial feel throughout - true to the photos. You will totally unwind in style and comfort at Sky Ridge!
Where will I be?
Sky Ridge is located on the slopes of Mt Scanzi in a secluded location with fantastic, elevated views. It is about a 10 minute drive to the Kangaroo Valley Village, and an easy 5 minute drive to the local golf course.
Why choose Sky Ridge?
Wow factor. The visible hand of a bold architect. Industrial style. Comfort. Yoga deck. Stunning viewsand much more - echnidas, birds, wallabies and wombats abound. Sky Ridge has it all. If you want to get away and relax in a truly unique home with stunning views, this is the property for you! With luxurious touches, such as Leif bathroom products, luxury bedding and towels, it is really set up for up to 4 couples to relax and shoot the breeze over long lunches, sunsets and cosy fires.
How is the property laid out?
Sky Ridge is set over two levels, with open plan living downstairs and all bedrooms and ensuites upstairs.
Upstairs - there are four queen bedrooms, each with its own ensuite. Each shower or bath has a full length window that allows you to look across the bush or make opaque, as you wish. Leif bathroom products are supplied for that extra touch if luxury. Please note that the bedrooms have walls that do not extend fully to the ceiling above but still maintain visual privacy.
Downstairs - the open plan lounge-dining-kitchen area is enhanced with dual fireboxes, cathedral ceiling, stunning artwork and unique lighting. The retractable glass doors and oversized windows on all sides bring the outside in, and allow the air to freely circulate.
The fully equipped kitchen is suitable for gourmet cooking or you can request a chef to prepare a meal to be enjoyed on the unique 14 seat dinning table. There is a dishwasher, gas oven and cooktop, and a Nespresso pod coffee machine. Tea, coffee, and some basic cooking ingredients are supplied.
The house is essentially off the grid with solar electricity with battery storage, filtered rainwater in the house, dam water for gardens, firewood for heating, bottled gas for cooking, and hot water.
Wi-Fi, Internet, Netflix, or Pay TV - will I have it?
Sky Ridge is located in a rural setting, so presently only has 4G internet, not NBN. Complimentary WiFi is available and a password will be provided in your pre-arrival email.
Please note however that neither The Holidays Collection nor the owner can guarantee 100% that the WiFi will work, and no compensation will be payable if problematic. This is especially the case at Daisy Hill which is in a rural setting. If Wi-Fi is important, please therefore always have a back up plan. Telstra has excellent mobile coverage in the Valley but we cannot guarantee its availability.
Sky Ridge also has a DVD / Blu-Ray player, sound system and many DVDs .
What about outdoors?
Sky Ridge is set on 10 acres of which about 2 acres are cleared with driveway and native garden beds and lawn areas, and the rest is native bush with mature trees and wildlife. There is a large timber deck away from the house suitable for yoga in the early morning (mats supplied) or drinks in the late afternoon. When opened up, the house flows easily and naturally to the outdoor areas and into the bush. The firepit that overlooks the valley is available for use April to September.
Stay warm or keeping cool?
Cooling options include opening up the home to catch the breeze, utilising the large ceiling fans in the living area, and all bedrooms have ceiling fans.
All windows and glass doors are double-glazed, thus retaining the heat from the abundant sunshine plus the two large JetMaster fireboxes. Firewood is supplied but you may need to get kindling from the bush.
What about sheets, towels and other supplies?
Sky Ridge supplies luxury bed linen and bath towels. All beds have electric blankets and there are plenty of throws.
Parking for cars, etc?
Sky Ridge has ample open air parking on the driveway for 6+ cars. There is a turning circle in the driveway making it easy to enter and exit the property.
Is my dog or cat also welcome to stay?
Dogs are welcome at Sky Ridge provided they are kept on a leash while they are outside - to protect the local wildlife.
Wildlife
It is a delight seeing wallabies feeding at dawn and dusk and the wombats in the evenings. Echnidas, birds, kangaroos, possums and occasionally snakes are also to be seen.
We do whatever we can to keep the property safe, however we cannot guarantee that you will not encounter any wildlife at the property. You must book the property knowing that the possibility of encountering wildlife exists, and you must take care during your visit if walking in the bush.

Stunning property and location let down by some design choices. Zero bedroom privacy and poor kitchen layout will prevent us from returning. But we enjoyed our stay and loved the design and styling. Very well stocked, including Leif products. Fantastic outlook over the valley, best appreciated when the property is fully opened up.
Setting is incredible. House is unique and has a wonderful atmosphere. Unfortunately, I had to throw some dishes I pre prepared as the oven was filthy, not just a dirty. No way was I eating anything that came out of that. We ran out of gas and so had no hot water and stove top use. I personally would have appreciated a door to our room. Over all it was a good experience, just not sure its worth the price tag.
Amazing modern home with breathtaking views overlooking the Valley. Wonderfully appointed and decorated, you have no reason for leaving during your stay. Great value & location. Lovely experience.
Stunning property, perfect for small groups. All the mod cons, lots of room and a beautiful setting. It was easy to contact Jane during our stay and the owner was more than happy to help with any issue.
We booked janes property for a group of busy mums to escape for a weekend and boy we were not disappointed. From the ease of booking and communication, to the pristine home and amenities, we literally did not have to leave the property once we arrived. Far enough away from town to feel serenity, close enough for morning breakky and coffee . Relaxing in the tub or enjoying mulled wine by the fireplace, we highly recommend to anyone wanting to unwind and switch off.
Had a fantastic time with a group of friends at Sky Ridge. Loved the advantage of being able to open the glass doors and soak up the outside just as much as the inside.
Lots of room to spread out as well as very comfortable communal spaces to enjoy meals together.
