Kenwood is in the heart of Sonoma wine country, lying east of Sonoma Creek in the upper part of Sonoma Valley. âThe Valley of the Moonâ. Bennett Mountain lies west of the town, and Sugarloaf Ridge to the northeast. There are 3 state parks in the vicinity where mountain biking and hiking are to die for. If you can bring your bikes it is a terrific area for biking and touring the countryside.
As you drive through Glen Ellen on your way here, you may want to stop and pick up wine, cheese, local produce, dairy, meats, and fish at The Glen Ellen Village Market (right side of Arnold), boasting an amazing deli with beautiful food to go. Across the street you will notice Les Pascals a Patisserie that is amazing !!! It is owned by a French couple, who will transform your tastebuds and heart to a French country bakery experience. A few steps away is the Saloon/ bar and grill, a former haunt of Jack London. It's a favorite watering hole where the locals go to catch up on the local goings on. And you can it outside along the river, a peaceful place to gather.
Once you have settled in, you may want to walk over to Muscardini's wine tasting room, just a couple of blocks up Cypress Ave on the corner of Hwy 12. Itâs a local favorite. Sit out side and enjoy the view. Or, cool off in their wine tasting room. If your lucky James will be there, he plays super cool music and will give you a wine tasting you will totally enjoy. Sonoma Square: Is a 15-minute drive from Kenwood. There are unique shops, a multitude of restaurants, and a wonderful cheese store right there on the square. A farmers market is held on weekends.
My favorite restaurant on the square is âThe Girl and the Figâ It is wonderful! A must âgo toâ restaurant. I advise making reservations ahead of time. She also has a sister restaurant in the town of Glen Ellen only 7 minutes down Rt. 12 that is equally delicious.
Suggestions of local wineries: Kunde, Chateau Sr jean, Matanzas, BR Cohn, Chalk Hill, Schug, Anaba, Sabastiani, Tin Barn, Gloria Ferrer, Armida.
I love Kunde right across the street on 12. The wine is delicious and the outdoor tasting area is in a gorgeous setting. The people who work there are terrific, and I recommend taking the cave tour, itâs free and very informative.
Things to do: Sonoma Valley is alive with activities and places to go. Mortonâs Hot Springs on Warm Springs Road is traditional for families who grew up in the bay area. Take a swim, have a picnic by the creek. Relax no worriesâŠ

We had a wonderful time at this property with our family and friends. The gated front yard is the star of the property. So private and many areas to sit and enjoy the outdoors. The master bedroom is so spacious and the other three bedrooms give so much space for all. The location is perfect as itâs a short walk to one of our favorite wine tasting spots, VJB. We hope to return soon!
One, but only one, of the advantages of this house was its being two blocks from where my brother lives. Well-stocked, beautifully decorated, all the comforts were other pluses. As well as good communication.
Our host Jackie was wonderful and accommodating, and highly communicative for the few questions we had! The home location was centrally located, quiet, comfortable, and contained all the amenities we needed, and our young adult children really enjoyed having a Hot Tub that was already hot upon our arrival! There were even small wineries within walking distance. We would definitely stay here again!
We had a lovely stay at Jackieâs house. The property was perfect for our needs (4 women), location was central to numerous wineries and tasting rooms as well as restaurants. The house and kitchen were well stocked, comfortable and CLEAN. Hot tub and yard settings were great perks. Finally Jackie was the best host; helpful and responsive to our questions! A
This was a second time staying at Jackieâs lovely house as a group of ladies. We enjoyed this stay as much if not more than last time. Jackie provides a lot of area insights as well as tasting BOGO. We arenât big drinkers but Marcardini is right around the corner (walking) and was a great place to relax. The house has a lot of extras and is well stocked and very well organized. Plenty of towels! Well stocked kitchen! We absolutely adore this place and how cute it is - we will be back!
Great location close to many wineries. Quiet at night. The house is very well equipped. Great appliances. Beds are comfortable Jackie was in touch throughout the stay to make sure everything was going well.
This was the perfect house for our friends getaway. Enough bedrooms, bathrooms, and everything we could have wanted. The front yard is private, serene, and just so peaceful. Even though we were gone most of the day wine tasting throughout Napa and Sonoma Counties, we enjoyed breakfast on the patio, and some time soaking in the hot tub. The hot tub was clean and hot - perfect. The neighborhood was quiet and picturesque. Neighborhood min-vins surronded us as well as the larger vineyards. We were walking distance to some amazing food - Stella! Jackie, our host, was quick with responses and suggestions for us from food and wine, to hiking and grocery shopping. We will definitely stay here again.
Lovely Vacation HomeWe thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The garden is beautiful with multiple seating areas for sun or shade, and the hot tub was fun in the cool mornings. The house was clean and well stocked, plus being able to walk to a few local wineries was very convenient.
We had a wonderful stay and truly enjoyed ourselves. This was a fabulous placeâpeaceful, safe, and perfectly situated in the heart of beautiful wine country. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway. Thank you, Jackie, for providing such a great space. Weâd love to come back again!
Far exceeded any expectations. The property and grounds looked even better than photos. Many unusual and fragrant plants. I wish our stay was longer so I could have relaxed more in the yard. The hammock was popular with the group. House well stocked with kitchen essentials and more. Many outdoor seating areas in various parts of the yard.Walked 2 small blocks to Muscardini wine tasting room. Pure relaxation and fun. Thanks Jackie.
The house had everything we needed and was comfortable to stay in. The drive to Penngrove took longer than expected, due to the windy roads, but I would reserve this location again despite that.
This charming house was exactly what we needed for our trip to wine country. The booking process was seamless and the property delivered on all expectations. Great location, comfortable accommodations, and hassle-free experience from start to finish. Would be ideal for a girlfriend's getaway or any group looking for a relaxing retreat!
Great house within walking distance to wineries and restaurants
I stayed for a long weekend with three friends and we all had a great time. There are a few wineries and restaurants within walking distance. Parking was easy and the house was clean and looked just like the pictures.
We had a wonderful stay in Kenwood. The neighborhood was lovely and our place was perfect. I especially loved all the outside seating, flowers and privacy. The inside accommodations had everything we needed and the beds and furniture were comfortable. Our host was very responsive and courteous. If we ever get back that way we would definitely check for availability.
We were looking for a place to accommodate three adults comfortably and this fit our requirements. It was easy to find, a beautiful garden, and the owner had multiple suggestions for places to eat and activities to enjoy. We would definitely recommend staying there.
My friends and I had a great time at Jackieâs place! Itâs in a quiet neighborhood within walking distance of several wineries and restaurants. The yard is so cute and we were sad that we didnât get to spend much time outside because of the weather. The house was comfortable and our only grievance was the spiders joining us in the hot tub (probably unavoidable due to the location beneath the trees) and subsequently in the house from our towels.
