Liked: Staff & service
It’s a very well aged facility, the room was spacious but the bathroom is small, with no power outlets. I’m 5’6 and can easily touch the ceiling. But overall it is a very quiet neighbourhood, close to the bus stop, and Kyoto station.
The location was perfect. About a 10 minute walk from Kyoto station.

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
I would not stay here again and I would not recommend this to my friends and relatives. You just can't remove the comforts like bed, table, chairs and make you sleep on a futon bed on the floor and make you use old toilet and shower and call it Ryokan experience. Did not bother to check the baths etc.,Only grace for this hotel was the person who was manning the reception. He was very nice and courteous.
Bring a pillow. The beds themselves are really comfortable but the pillows were pretty uncomfortable. The building itself was pretty empty and the women’s bath area was really nice (it looked like it was redone recently). There’s a shared restroom on each floor but since there weren’t many other people it was private for the most part. They have a place on the balcony to dry your clothes as well.
Traditional beautiful hotel, manager was so helpful and accommodating, made our entire stay in kyoto easy and soecial. Highly recommend would go here. again.
Walkable distance to kyoto station when taxi station is huge wait.
