The fire alarm went off during the night, resulting in being left on the street for 40 minutes. It was a false alarm; the fire service and the neighbours confirmed this happens on a regular basis. Do not stay here if you want a peaceful night.

Having stayed at the Bob W Olympia, staying at the Bob W Philbeach Gardens was a much poorer experience and there were none of the small details that made the stay at the other Bob W so special. Last time, there was ground coffee and cups from a local supplier, and a tote bad, a bottle and charging cables to use during my stay. This time, none were included and while the room itself was ok, there were marks on the wall and the bottom of the bed, and an unpainted patch with holes in the wall where it looked like there had previously been a shelf. There was therefore no shelf next to the bed, so I had to leave my things on the floor, and there was no lamp next to the bed either, so I had to keep the ceiling light on and get out of bed to turn it off. The pocket room is small, just as described in the listing, but I would say that for one small person for a couple of days it is perfectly fine. To access the bathroom I had to go down three steps, and it looked recently renovated, although the cabinet underneath the sink was wonky and there was a cup holder for the toothbrush with no cup. The whatsapp number to contact the team worked fine and they replied quickly, however when I asked about the tote bag, I got a reply saying that there should have been one and that a team member could bring one, however that never actually happened. Ultimately I had an ok stay and the location is fantastic, but having previously stayed at another Bob W, this time it was a disappointment.

A number of issues made our stay far from satisfactory. Firstly, the mattress in our room did not fit the bed frame properly. It was curved at both ends with a deep dip in the middle, making it extremely uncomfortable and resulting in a very poor night’s sleep. Although an extra duvet was provided in an attempt to make it more comfortable, this made no difference. Secondly, the lift was out of order throughout our stay. This would have been inconvenient in any case, but the stairs were exceptionally steep, making it very difficult to carry our luggage up and down safely. In addition, the complimentary toiletries were not replenished before our arrival — the shampoo bottle was completely empty. We also noticed that the flooring in the room was clearly worn and showed visible signs of water damage, which gave the room a neglected appearance. Given the price we paid and the reputation of hotels in this area, we expected a much higher standard of accommodation and service. This was certainly not the experience we had hoped for, especially on what was meant to be a special birthday trip.

This stay was absolutely one of the worst of my life...The pocket room was too small to make it functional. Getting help from staff was like pulling teeth. The heating wasn't working at first, then once that got fixed, the lift broke and went broken until I left. Then the bedroom door stopped opening...I was made to go up and down the stairs until I found the right fob at the lobby safe and let myself in. I couldn't get toilet paper for hours because there was none in the storeroom and the staff was too busy to tend to me...All in all it was a disappointing facility with egregiously poor service...DO NOT RECOMMEND

Great location, easy to access the room with a code sent before hand. Close to tube, bus, resturants, shops. great area feels very safe. Adorable personall that I meet so friendly and helpfull. On the lless good points. The bathroom was super small and when U washed your face it camed water all over the floor, but it worked. nothing to be fussy about since its overall is a great stay and very good price for central London. will definatley come back again.

We came down as I was running a 50k ultramarathon on the 14th. The apartment was stunning and it felt like a home away from home! Super clean, cosy and comfortable! Access via the app was amazing! The only downside was it was incredibly noisy between 2200-0100hrs with other hotel guests shouting and banging in the corridors.
