Enjoy this cute 3 bedroom home with majestic views, amazing summer pool* and jacuzzi. We are 5 minutes from Calamigos Ranch and Cielo Farms. This is an ideal destination for wine tasting, hiking, mtn biking, cycling and beach going. Can also be used as a jumping off point to other Los Angeles/Ventura County destinations or just relaxing in peaceful seclusion. We are 15 minute from the beach and 10 minutes from the 101 freeway. Experience the magic of the Santa Monica Mountain Range all year round.
*Pool is season and weather dependent as it is solar heated and only heated from April-November. December-March the pool is not able to be heated to swimming temp. Typically by the afternoon on a sunny day from April-June the solar heater will heat the pool to between 70-80 degrees. From July-November it will heat it to 80-90 degrees. The pool CAN have supplemental heating by a propane heater at guests request for a $100 per day fee but that does not guarantee a desired temp. The propane supplement may only change temp by 2-3 degrees per day of propane use. Since the pool is not covered the heat loss on cold nights is too much to keep at temp all the time heat. July to October is when the pool will usually be warm all day with only solar heat.
The Spa/Jacuzzi is available all year long and heating it is complimentary with your stay.
Guest access:
Guest have use of the entire home except for the two car garage which is not for guest use and may be used by owner during guests stay. This will not impact guest privacy.
Park anywhere near the house but please do not block the garage door. I may need to access the garage during your stay. Guests have exclusive and private access to the approximately 1/2 acre fenced yard that surrounds the pool/home as well as the parking/turn around area. Guests may also wander the 6 acre property. The trellised deck with grape vines on the top next to the old horse trailer is a nice sunset spot. There may be other guests staying in the camping trailer so please be mindful of everyone's privacy. There is a propane BBQ and propane fire pit under the oak tree that is available for guest use. No other open flame allowed on property as we are in an extremely high fire danger area. This home actually burned down in the Woolsey Fire in 2018 so everyone is very on edge about fire risk.
Guest interaction:
I'll usually give my guests space and let them check in and check out on there own but I am always available for question or concerns and am always up for socializing. If I am around when you are here I will say hi and see if you need anything. I am available from 9am to 10pm. If there is a medical emergency please call 911 and if there is a house emergency please contact me anytime.
Neighborhood overview:
The grounds here are beautiful and the magic of Santa Monica Mountains is gentle and inspiring. While being 10 minutes to civilization, it feels like another world. Everyone enjoys the beauty of having coffee or tea in the morning out under the oak tree in the peace and serenity of the ranch. This is a great place to write, use as a base camp for recreation adventures, do yoga, plan local wine adventures, or just chill. The evenings are glorious, a star filled sky, a big moon, and nature all around. The neighborhood, if you could call it a neighborhood consists of homes scattered throughout the mountains. There are a couple homes on adjacent properties fairly close but you will feel like you are peacefully secluded and privately tucked away in your own mountain world.
Getting around:
If you do not have your own transportation Uber and Lyft are an option. But since I am slightly off the beaten path there can be a 15-30 min wait time for pick ups.
Other things to note:
Wifi is available:
Network: Seven Oaks Ranch_Guest
PW: Guest151
Cell reception is spotty up here so Wifi calling is probably your best bet once you are here.
While there is plenty of privacy and seclusion since the home is situated on a 6 acre hilly lot and with only three neighbors within a 1/4 mile and none seen from inside the home the owner does live in a small cottage down the pool side hill on the west side of the house so there may be some awareness of other human activity :-)
