Family friendly, there's a lot of activities for the whole family. Very big resort - 7 different buildings so you may have to walk a little to get to the main part of the resort. However, there are multiple pools so you're never far from one. The staff is incredible.

This was a last minute trip. Activities led by hotel staff was excellent. Beautiful views. Food was mediocre. Very safe area to visit. Very kid and pet friendly establishment.

Its a great value! The food and staff are pretty good. The drinks are really tasty. They even have some decent shows. It was our second time here and we loved it. We even got to see baby sea turtles released. We would definitely go back again.

This is our 10th time in Mexico in the last 5 years! Never stay at the same hotel because we want to explore all hotels. Our favorite hotel is Hyatt Ziva in both Cancun and Cabo. This was our 1st time to stay at holiday inn resort. We are on very low budget this year, if we didn’t get FANTASTIC deal we were going to stay home!! So THANK YOU HOLIDAY INN. We had no expectations for what we paid, based on other reviews we thought to give it a try. It’s not a Hyatt ziva experience, but man it was a wonderful trip!! The pools are great!! one of the best we’ve seen, food in my opinion a 7-8 out of 10. They have GREAT food but I only had 2 bad dishes!! Rooms had mix opinions, I thought the rooms were good and my wife thought less than average BUT everything was clean!, the beds are great. I don’t like to make long reviews so my final thought, if I shop for a deal and my favorite Hyatt ziva going for $3000 and this holiday inn for $2000 I would definitely book the holiday inn. But if the holiday inn for $2600 I would pay the extra $400 and book Hyatt!! What I am trying to say is if you want to save money and have a good trip go for it. One more thing about holiday inn, they need to have better expresso coffee and better tasting desserts, not bad but could get little improvements

Amazing Resort, Amazing Staff

Pros: Honestly, everything!
Cons: Nothing to be improved! Possibly some longer activities but that is it!
Location: Great location! Hotel is really close to downtown San Jose, where you could either walk, take a taxi, or take the bus to! You always feel very safe!
We stayed here for 5 nights and are so impressed that we are definitely planning on coming back to stay at the Holiday Inn Resort! The staff goes beyond to make their guests comfortable by not only providing a friendly and helpful atmosphere but also by providing services such as daily activities! The staff really make an effort to connect with their guests by getting to know them by asking where they are from, what type of things and activities they want to see and do as well as help them throughout their stay by giving directions, making sure your dietary needs are taken care of, making sure they have clean towels, etc! I don't have enough good things to say about the staff! But on top of the amazing staff, the hotel is very well kept as well! The look of the resort is beautiful with local plants such as cacti, and the resort offers amazing amenities such as cabanas, hammocks, multiple restaurants, multiple bars, and multiple pools! It is a great place for families, couples, and friends!

First off....I’m a member, and been coming here for years. It’s awesome! But not perfect. It’s an old complex of old and new buildings (the rooms are sometimes smelly and buggy...... but with good reasons. There is an ecological wonder next door (the estuary) which they are struggling to protect, so pesticides are limited.... too bad! I’ve never had a single bedbug bite in 12 years.. yes there are roaches, but just outside. If you let them in, that’s your issue! There are also birds and a cat or 2 in the dining area. But in the mornings you can see the dragonflies hovering over the sprinklers and even spot an iguana or two hanging out in the rafters outside! The beds are comfy, the water is usually hot enough and the food is excellent!! Fresh catch of the day, yum!! Eat outside at what they used to call ”El patio” . Or order room service if you don’t like the buffet. And by the way, the people are absolute gems, even the guy we dubbed the “towel nazi!” ! He and his people keep the activity pool area hopping and he makes beach umbrella art every morning! If you say just a little “good morning” he will smile! But if you want a towel you have to have a card..... Alma is the queen of the cocktails in the grown up pool! This lady works far too much and deserves our love! She will make you a drink, find you a promotion or 2 and just generally brighten your day! The hunks at the door always greet you with a smile! The one called “Moon Rock” has helped us forever!

Thank you for coming for several years, there are a lot of repetitive guests like you that come every year sometimes more than once a year and we love that!... I will make sure to share your comments with the hotel management and all of our colleagues in order they see how much our guests appreciate their job and how happy they make you in every visit. Kudos to Alma, who is one of the persons that our guests love more, I'd love to know who is "Moon Rock" hehe, but I will thank the whole Bellman team just in case. I'm so sorry for the bugs, there is a price for having that wonder next door (The Estuary), we will work on looking for doing somethiong in order we can erradicate them. We all will be more than glad to welcome you back as many times as you comeback!... Take care and have a great evening!!!

Pros: clean, well taken care of grounds, multiple pools for different age groups, large beach, no timeshare crap, great food, local stores within walking distance and the locals don’t hassle you like they do in Cabo San Lukas. Cons: pool is cold, pool music works randomly, bring change to tip because hotel will not give you change at all ( I brought large bills). No airport shuttle even their website states there is by request (they only use their bus for employees). Airport: run outside and avoid the hundreds of guys pretending they want to help with a taxi or shuttle. They will have you signed up for a timeshare tour before you know it. Go directly outside and take a shot at the outdoor bar and walk up to a van for a hotel ride. Price around $14 usd per person.

Not very clean,

The staff Was very friendly, but when we got the or room the floor was so dirty, the bathrooms are not very clean and also we were left with shampoo leftovers from the previous guest!! The AC (if that can be called AC) was very loud and didn't work.... Our room felt warmer than outside.
