Feel at home in the ELLSTONE FARM HOUSE a rural gem! (Email ellstonefarm@gmail or text Jill 0272080026) 240 White Rock Road Martinborough (1km past Brackenridge ) available for up to 14 people. NB LINEN IS NOT INCLUDED A $15 per person fee if you require towels, top and bottom sheets and pillowcases. Plenty of blankets and duvets and pillows. Please advise when booking or text Jill on 0272080026 at least 3 days before if linen is required. Because Ellstone is a big house a minimum of 4 guests is preferred. You are welcome to Text the number above for more information. 15% discount for 7 days or more. Home away from Home! A private sunroom with pullout couch, plus another pullout sofa bed in kitchen/family area and also in lounge, make up sleeping arrangements for large numbers. ELLSTONE is a spacious farm house with all the comforts of home offering 3 ensuite rooms and 3 living areas, 2 log fires, plus heat pump. Private outdoor Spa (only onlookers sheep, or cattle) and large sunny decks. Exhale, and do nothing! Peace and beauty abound on this 900 acre sheep and cattle farm. Beautiful views of rural Wairarapa from the top of gentle rolling hills. A great walk .A short drive to Vineyards, Restaurants, Golf Course and Brackenridge. 4km drive from the Square. Tea and Coffee is included, plus sugar, flour salt,pepper, but all other food and drink needs to be brought with you.
Ellstone is an operating farm, activity can sometimes be operating closeby, and the private self contained annexe off the kitchen MAY be occupied, by Louise, our Caretaker. Your privacy is assured, she will respect your personal space.
Please leave the property and spa as found. A $25 fee for pet which must have it’s own bed and be supervised at all times please i.e not allowed on furniture or beds. NB If you need to cancel go to “My Trips” and follow instructions.

Peaceful and relaxing. Spacious, in a lovely garden in the country - a stone’s throw from Martinborough. There were just the two of us in the house that would comfortably hold many more. Luxury!

Big comfy house good for groups

A nice comfy place with many bedrooms and beds really good for a group of friends or families. Not fancy or swanky in anyway, but comfortable, warm and spacious. Note - even if you pay for linen to be supplied you'll need to make your own beds. The spa pool is a great addition and it's awesome for stargazing.

Lovely home

Lovely large house in nice rural setting. Good heating ensured it was warm. Kitchen very well supplied with utensils etc. Very clean. Only negative feedback relates to the quality and supply of the linen we paid extra for. We had to make the beds, and linen was not overly good quality and bit limited (1towel each & no flannels). Also the “5th bedroom” is bit misleading as is a pull out couch in the kitchen. Fine for family but not appropriate for our arrangement where separate bedrooms were preferred.

Large quirky property that fits a lot of people

Bring your own condiments as very little other than salt is provided. Check-in time is 4.30pm as well. Property is comfy and lots of spaces to break up a bigger group. Had a great time there and only a 5 min drive into town (if that).

Best suited to NZ domestic travellers

A large 3-bedroom home in a lovely rural setting, an easy 2-minute drive from Martinborough town centre. Peaceful. This accommodation is best suited to domestic visitors, not overseas visitors like us. We experienced problems because the Vrbo Australia and NZ platforms did not integrate, so messages like the address, key location, and the fact that no linen was supplied with this booking (15 cash only per person hire) were not easily accessible to us. Cash is not easy to access in Martinborough as an overseas tourist, and it requires a lot of effort to locate. Late at night, there is also a lot of pressure to have linen delivered, which is of poor quality and not commercially washed. I have never experienced linen not being provided with accommodation on these platforms before, so this is more akin to the bach experience from decades ago. Bring your own everything from home. The accommodation states it can sleep 14, but there isn't enough crockery, etc., for that number. There are multiple beds in the three bedrooms, so it's a dormitory-like experience. There is no laundry accessible in the house. The local laundromat is open only during business hours, and loads cost 8 each. The house is tidy but very dusty and musty. The heating is electric, not fireplaces. The owners responded to messages quickly, and a local resident who lives on-site, accessible through a shared door to the property, provided the linen. Not really set up for overseas travellers, and basic.

Huge house. Very comfortable.

Clean and tidy house. Lovely location really close to Martinborough. Might be a bit cold in winter because it’s so huge, but there are two open fires as well as heaters, and wood provided so could be nice and cozy too once fired up. Hot tub is an inflatable one and smallish, but still lovely to have.

Certainly is a gem! Very tranquil and relaxing. Lovely Rural setting but so close to town. The house has a lovely farm house feel to it. The Living areas are very spacious and the lots of room to relax. We would love to come back
