Trip was wonderful. Would recommend to get Screens on all the windows⊠it was lovely to open the windows and hear the birds and the sea, but had to close everything up because of the flys.
We enjoyed a pre-season stay at this lovely home. It was clean, comfortable, and a very short walking distance from the beach. The foosball table was especially fun for our kids. There was a great selection of games/puzzles, and the kitchen was adequately supplied for preparing meals in.
While the seas where rough, the stay was pleasant and a lot of fun. The Koala Pointe House had everything you would ever need on a beach trip (beach chairs, boogie boards, sand toys, beach wagon, umbrellas, et cetera); and everything mentioned regarding the house was as advertised or better. The outdoor shower was a huge benefit. All utilities and amenities were exactly as advertised as well. Very pleasant and clean community as well.
This house was perfect for the 5 people that we had, plenty of room for everyone! It was a short walk to the beach and you can hear the waves from one of the 3 decks that this house has. The top deck is perfect for catching the sunrise! The screened in deck was great for outside meals and kept the bugs away. Lots of room outside for things, like cornhole! We would definitely stay at this location again!
Great location with access to the beach and restaurants. Loved the back deck on first floor. Second floor deck was splippery. The location advertised a hot tub but there was none. The house is dated compared to others we have rented and privacy was limited especially on the first floor bedroom.
We had a fun time. Beach right around the corner. Few issues. The dishwasher was broke. I called the management the second day we got there to tell them but no one came. The dishes sat in water the rest of the week. Not that big of a deal, but still! Front storm door was broke. Again, not a big deal! The bathroom floor squeaked ALOT!! This was a real pain getting up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. The bathroom is shared w another room and the squeaking was disturbing. Last gripe!! The furniture definitely needs an upgrade. Our dresser drawers were totally broken and off their rails. We couldnât get them open and closed. Sorry for the negativity but if Iâm spending a lot of money in advance, I want the house to be what I anticipate!!! Aside from all that. It is a nice house with pretty awesome ocean views! With those upgrades, weâd definitely come back for another stay!!
Overall I rated this stay a 4 star and for us it met our needs. Many positives with only a few not so positives. The house was clean and well appointed in the kitchen, floor plan was well suited for our needs with having young children, for example the Jack and Jill bathroom. Linens were clean and plentiful. Location to the beach was wonderful and the well stocked beach accessories in the storage area was a bonus. Outside space was a bit of a let down, the backyard space wasnât maintained during our brief stay and just uninviting for activities, the grill had no propane and when we reached out to seaside rentals they could not deliver a replacement. We were told to purchase a refill and we would be reimbursed once we emailed proof of purchase. We did as instructed and as of the date of this review we have not been reimbursed. This has also been the first rental we have stayed in that didnât provide a hair dryer. The main floor queen bed was rather noisy and slightly uncomfortable. Like I stated in the beginning overall a good stay but with room for improvements by the owners/management company.
We stayed at Koala Pointe with our yellow lab for July 4th. Overall stay was great and would definitely stay there again.
Positives:
1. The location is great. Away from all hotels and the highways but you are located within walking distance of beach access, restaurants and shops. Neighbors were very nice, street is quiet and has walkers/bikes that go by. Easy walk to beach. Adjacent lot is vacant = more privacy. You can hear and see ocean from house.
2. New decks and screened porch are great. Spent a lot of time out there for meals and morn coffee. Watched fireworks from top deck to avoid crowds at pier.
3. Home is a little outdated but furnishings within the home are well maintained and home was very clean. Couch was comfortable, kitchen has room to move around, and dining table had plenty of seating. We enjoyed doing puzzles at the table.
4. Beach gear provided but we also rented from VayKLife with credit. Would do again.
Addâl Comments:
1. Listing notes AC provided. There is a central system but cannot go lower than 72. Window units are provided in each bedroom and dining.
2. No garbage disposal in kitchen. Not a huge deal but added effort when cleaning dishes.
3. It would be nice to have a fenced area in back to let dog roam.
4. Bathrooms are tight and have overlapping doors that are cumbersome.
5. Primary bed is comfy but noisy when moving.
6. When it rains, all roof water sheds directly on stairs so you get completely soaked.
