About this property

Spotless Cottage in Gorgeous Setting, pet friendly , miniature donkeys, wildlife

In rural Franklin nestled under amongst the rolling hills and cow pastures, you will find this absolute treasure of a guesthouse. Located on an immaculate 6-acre property, this little house welcomes guests of all backgrounds for a luxurious stay only about 15 minutes from the beautiful, quaint downtown Franklin, Tennessee - recently rated one of the best towns in the USA. We have outfitted it with all the best materials and provide the amenities that make your stay special - like luxurious sheets and towels, a ready and waiting coffee pot, sometimes even freshly-baked muffins or bread. Come and stay with us to experience vacation rentals as they should be! L

Within 10-15 minutes of Hatcher Dairy, Arrington Vineyards, the Barn at Sycamore Farms, New Approach School for Jewelers, Williamson County Ag Center, Downtown Franklin, Cool Springs, Brentwood, I-65, I-840, I-24, Spring Hill, Columbia, College Grove, Arrington, Leiper's Fork, Murfreesboro, and more. An easy drive takes you to all that Nashville has to offer including the Nashville Predators, the Tennessee Titans, Nashville Soccer Club MLS, the Country Music Hall of Fame, the Ryman, the Grand Ole Opry, Opry Mills, the Honky Tonks of Broadway, Vanderbilt University, Green Hills Mall, and so much more. 30 minutes on the interstate will have you in Murfreesboro as well for the Miller Coliseum, MTSU, or other events happening there.

The cottage, which was once a pole barn and then an art studio, has been recently remodeled into a delightful, open space with a very large bedroom, a walk-in closet, a full-sized washer and dryer, a beautiful bathroom, a living room with leather furniture, television with streaming services, stereo speakers with Bluetooth, dining area, and complete kitchen with walk-in pantry. The space features beautiful vaulted ceilings and huge picture windows facing the north so there is continuous beautiful light in the cottage. From experience, the owners know that it can be very difficult to find a high end rental property that is small and sized for just a couple of people! They are delighted to bring this cottage to market and help fill that gap! The bedroom has a roller shade in case you desire a bit of privacy, although there is nobody around except the deer. It is completely handicap accessible throughout, and we are extremely proud to often host wheelchair-bound guests.

The owners live on the property in the main house but rarely interact with guests. Dogs are welcome to come and stay, and with coordination with the owners, may enjoy the beautiful property. There are rabbits and chickens on the property so guests often create a delicious breakfast with fresh eggs. A beautiful little patio with twinkle lights is a wonderful place to enjoy morning coffee or a nice glass of wine in the evening. The grounds are perfectly manicured and make a delightful backdrop for guests to enjoy watching the wildlife in this remarkable place.

The owners also have two miniature donkeys who are quite friendly and enjoy pets from guests. Frequently seen wildlife on the property includes deer, wild turkeys, foxes, and hawks. Every so often one is lucky enough to spot an owl. Many guests find the wildlife, peaceful setting, and quiet surrounds to be extremely therapeutic.

Guests are invited to bring their own pets (dogs and cats, others with prior approval) to enjoy the property as well. There is a pet fee.

Important note: Do NOT book if you are bringing a trailer or a UHaul truck without contacting us first. If you show up with either without our prior notice we will not honor your reservation !! This is for your and our safety.

Room with a View
What a great property. Our chapel-style home had every amenity needed as well as the charm of a coastal cottage. The windows of the rooms provided such light; with the green leaves of the trees against the blue sky as a bonus! It’s amazing to feel so at home so quickly.

Perfect place to stay!
We really enjoyed our experience. What a lovely place to stay! Clean, comfortable, everything you need, beautiful! Our son and his wife live in Spring Hill. We will definitely be back as this was a perfect place to stay. Close to everything we wanted to do. And a special bonus - very pet friendly which is important to us. Thank you!

Perfect place to relax, reset and rejuvenate
A most comfortable, tranquil and hospitable extended weekend getaway. We, including our two dogs, thoroughly enjoyed our stay. A perfect place to relax and unwind and catch up with family. We enjoyed taking a daily walk to the main road, checking out the local restaurants and small town charm Franklin has to offer. Leaving truly is the hardest part. Looking very much forward to returning to the Franklin community and your lovely cottage again in the near future. Thank you so much Kendal. Kurt, Lia, MayBelle & Diddle

Quied Get-away
The property location was beautiful and very quiet. We had no trouble relaxing and enjoying our stay. The home was very unique and had everything needed for our stay. We especially enjoyed visiting with the donkeys and the rabbit. The location was very convenient for visiting Franklin, Nashville, and surrounding communities. We truly enjoyed our stay and would come again if traveling in the area.

Nice Little Getaway
I was looking for a quiet place for an overnight, personal retreat, and this hit the spot! It's off the beaten path, which was perfect for what I was looking for. Nice also to have a spacious property to explore.

Make sure to document EVERYTHING
If I could give this place negative stars I would. The house was not clean and the photos are not accurate. There was poop residue in the toilet and the bathroom shower head fell on my husbands head, but that wasn’t why we left. My family was there for less than 24 hours because of all the bugs everywhere. According to the owner it’s very common to sleep with lady bugs and “Japanese beetles” when you stay on a farm. I’ve stayed in multiple rentals and farms before, but never had this issue. Make sure you document every single bug you see before you kill, vacuum, or brush them outside, or the owner will call you a liar. I vacuumed and cleaned the entire rental and as soon as I sat down the bugs were everywhere again. When we left I told the owner my husband was not feeling well; he and I had constantly been cleaning bugs and picking up the entire time we stayed at this location. The owner implied that I was lying about my husband having an emergency, even though I have a voicemail from his doctor and his emergency room discharge papers. After we left and the owner found out about the bugs she said her family would have come in and cleaned them out. I’m sorry, but if I payed for a rental property and I don’t want the owner to have to come into the property while I’m there. After looking back at the reviews it seems the family who stayed there the weekend before us also had an issue with bugs. Save your money, your time and rent somewhere else that is clean and has honest owners

Unexpected
it is a beautiful chapel converted to a cottage, I left one day early because of an invasion of insects and bugs. Note: There are no doors or curtains or shades on the windows. There is no door on the bathroom which is visible from the outside. There are 360 degree external cameras.

Girls trip
We had an amazing time. This place is worth every penny. The listing says that it has a sleeper couch for 1 and that you can take the cushions off to make it a larger sleeping space, however the cushions are completely attached. If you have 3 people staying the third will have to just sleep on a regular couch that doesn’t pull out or have extra space or anything. There is also a blowup mattress option too. The host is super helpful - we were here during a snow storm and she was so kind in checking to make sure we had what we needed and supplied extra blankets for us! Overall, it was so welcoming and we enjoyed staying at this little chapel out in the rolling hills of Franklin, TN!
