The house was the most dog-friendly rental we have ever stayed in so if youâre traveling with dogs, this is a great place to stay. There is no direct lake accessâthe access to the lake is blocked by a gated community so the immediate water/boat ramp access is a little misleading. The gate to the driveway is on a 30-second timer and once it begins to close it will not stopâthere is no motion detection sensor. This is understandable with an older gate even if it is unsafe but at minimum could be mentioned in the property description for guests caravanning with more than one car. One of our vehicles received significant body damage from the gate upon check-in. The response from the property mgmt company was pretty dismissive and the manager seemed content to place blame entirely on us. Our experience may have been given a different reaction had the security cameras actually been turned on (cameras are present but not operating) and we might have been treated differently. The house was truly wonderful and we loved our stay aside from the incredibly stressful check-in with the gate and the impact/stress inflicted throughout the week over the issue. In fairness, mgmt has claimed that they will help with the deductible for the damage and we appreciate that if they follow through. However, potential renters should be aware of the safety issues with the gate and lack of surveillance. These are issues that can be easily fixed and hopefully the host/mgmt will give it consideration.
