Come experience the unique designs of the Madrona by renown architect, Ross Chapin and the quality, comfort, and charm of a true Chapin home. The architectural detail work is second to none.

Step outside your door and within walking distance to fine restaurants, galleries, boutiques, public beach, Amtrack stop and marinas.

Start your day with a cup of coffee on one of the cottage front or rear porches complete with flower boxes; spend the afternoon riding a bike or at the beach.

This perfect vacation home boasts a private first floor master suite with cathedral ceilings. Private bathroom with rain shower. Cathedral ceilings.
Guest powder room on main floor.
2nd Bedroom with a connected full Bathroom and tub.
There are two additional bedrooms upstairs with a full bathroom. Don't forget the stairwell reading nook.

The sleeping bags are ready in place in the 'kids only' loft, perfect for sleep and play.
Family room has a pool table, game table, and foosball table.
Total square footage is 2700 sq ft.

Pack up the family and head to the beach. Don't worry about what to bring. We provide bicycles and beach chairs.

Equipped with high speed internet and cable TV. Linens are provided along with full service kitchens with all necessities of home.

Over an acre of PRIVATE spacious grounds for plenty of outdoor fun that is SAFE for children, dogs and adults.

We can sleep more but only allow for 10 guest.
4 true bedrooms plus a loft. The rental rates are posted and are easy to read.

2 Bedrooms with Queen beds, 1 with a King and 1 Bedroom with 2 full beds and a trundle. We also have a full size crib and a convertible crib for the little ones..

2 Flat screen TV's with access to internet TV and free Netflix.

New Buffalo Family Trip

We have been coming to New Buffalo for a decade as part of an annual family trip that has been going on for over 20 years. This is the first time that we’ve stayed longer than a weekend and we couldn’t have been more comfortable. The house was well equipped for children, was very clean and stocked with provisions for vacation, and the location is fantastic. It’s easy to get downtown and to the beach while also having fantastic pool access. Check In/Out was very easy.

Great house, great location

We love staying at homes in ‘merchant st cottages’ area. This is our favorite home in the neighborhood because of the layout and cleanliness. Communication with owner is great. Thankful to stay at such a nice place.

A chill day

It’s a great place to stay, and explore the little town, and is so close to the beach. One thing I was upset, the information they provided, it says “pool heated” included but it end up not been available, it’s not even cleaned. But overall great place to stay

Perfect location

Host Michael was great. House was clean. The location is unbeatable. We stayed at the house with another family, so 4 adults and 4 kids ages 4-8. Location to the library (it is a wonderful kid friendly library, we spent almost 2 hours there), breakfast, coffee, beach was all exactly what we wanted. And no surprise the kids loved the arcade in the basement, and the "secret" loft area. We stayed in middle of winter so it was nice have a garage spot as well.We would stay here again.

Repeat visit - great as always!

This was our third time staying at this property, and it was great as always! It’s the perfect spot for families with kids - close to everything, and the basement (arcade games, pool table, foosball) sets this house apart from the other Merchant St Cottages we’ve stayed at. The host is very responsive and helpful. We’ll be back!

A perfect family weekend

Our family enjoyed our time here SO much. There was something to entertain all of the kids in the arcade area when the weather outside was not the best. When the weather improved, we were walking distance to everything. The house was perfect. It was everything I could’ve hoped for. Thank you!

Such A Gem!

This house is beautiful! The layout and location are so ideal. A short walk to the beach, and a block or two from downtown and the grocery store. We never needed to use our car. Our family had a wonderful time and we can’t wait to be back next summer!

Another Great Stay

This is our second time renting this home. It was perfect for our crew of 5 moms and 5 teenagers. We walked to the beach and restaurants. We made s'mores and enjoyed sitting around the fire in the evening!

Great beach town stay

Excellent stay

We had a wonderful stay in New Buffalo! The house was welcoming and fully loaded with anything we may have needed or forgotten. The pool is a few steps away and the downtown shops, dining, and beach are an easy walk from the property also. We especially enjoyed hanging out on the covered front porch with our morning coffee.

Family Vacation In New Buffalo

Thank you once again to Mike. We have enjoyed this home for several years and feel so comfortable there. The house is stocked with all the amenities you will need for a wonderful family vacation with children or just a weekend with adults to play games and have fun. The pool is perfect for taking a swim or exercise and area is kept very clean. The Merchant Cottages are truly a very nice village, and with the town, the beach and all the restaurants near by everything is in walking distance. We are so happy to have our vacation here. Property spacious, clean and close ( walking distance) to town. Beautiful house. Some beds not comfortable. Swimming pool very crowded at times. One chair in living room slightly broken and uncomfortable.
